“I’m a good person!” That’s been Alyssa’s refrain throughout Married at First Sight Season 14 as she’s struggled in her marriage to Chris. The animal rescue owner didn’t click with her new husband and has insisted the show’s experts short-changed her. But the disappointed Boston bride has frustrated Chris – and alienated viewers – with her refusal to interact with him or explain why she finds him so objectionable. Now, another famous reality star is chiming in on the Alyssa-Chris drama.

‘Jersey Shore’ star references her drunken arrest, reminds everyone she’s also a ‘good person’

Alyssa’s repeated insistence that she’s a good person hasn’t gone unnoticed by Married at First Sight fans, many of whom think exactly the opposite. It also struck a chord with Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, another reality star who famously declared she was a “good person.”

Polizzi commented on a video shared by the Married at First Sight Instagram account on Feb. 10. In the clip, Chris and Alyssa have a heated discussion with the show’s producers about whether she is there for the “right reasons.”

“I’m a really f***ing good person,” she says. “And I came here with the right intentions.”

“‘I’M A GOOD PERSON!’ – me getting arrested on the beach,” Polizzi commented. She was referring to an infamous incident from Jersey Shore where her drunken antics finally caught up with her.

After drinking all day – including through her shift at the T-shirt shop – Polizzi wandered off down the boardwalk in search of the beach. As Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Deena Cortese tried to get their wasted friend under control, the police approached. After Polizzi mouthed off to the officers, she was arrested, prompting her to declare that she was “a f***ing good person” as she was hauled off to jail.

Polizzi’s reference to her own bad behavior onscreen had plenty of Married at First Sight fans laughing.

“THIS IS LITERALLY all I could think of when she said that,” one replied.

‘Married at First Sight’ fans call out experts over Alyssa’s casting

Polizzi’s joke aside, many Married at First Sight viewers are fed up with Alyssa. So far, she has steadfastly refused to engage in the show’s process, which involves being married to a stranger for eight weeks. Commenters on social media are wondering why she went on the show in the first place if she wasn’t committed to giving her marriage a fair shot. Married at First Sight Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam asked Alyssa that same question when she appeared on the show. But Alyssa declined to answer, instead walking off the set.

Fans have also singled out the show’s experts and producers for criticism. They’re wondering how Alyssa made it through the supposedly rigorous screening process. They were also concerned for Chris, whom they felt was being mistreated.

“Credibility of experts in jeopardy big time with her on the show!” one commented.

“Shame on MAFS for allowing Chris to be humiliated on national TV,” another wrote. “Alyssa should have been sent home!!”

Others wondered if the Lifetime reality series was scripted and that Alyssa had been cast for drama and ratings.

“She’s despicable and there’s absolutely no way that the experts didn’t see her narcissism before they cast her,” one person argued. “This has [to] be more about ratings then it is about matching Chris with someone worthy.”

‘Married at First Sight’: Alyssa Insists She Has ‘Literally Been the Nicest Person,’ Says the Experts ‘Didn’t Do This Right’

The Feb. 16 episode of Married at First Sight will see the couples returning from their Puerto Rican honeymoon and settling into their new apartments in Boston. But right now, it’s looking like Alyssa and Chris won’t be moving to the next stage of their relationship.

So far, Alyssa has refused to entertain the idea of cohabiting with Chris, saying she doesn’t feel comfortable sharing the same space as him. She’s proposed that they essentially share custody of the apartment, with each living there – separately – for a few weeks. That idea was rejected by the Married at First Sight producers. It also didn’t appeal to Chris. He says he just wants Alyssa to admit she’s not committed to the process or their marriage.

“I wish that she would say how she really feels,” he said after yet another tense conversation in the show’s Feb. 9 episode. “And take the consequences of those feelings and opinions.”

New episodes of Married at First Sight Season 14 air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
