Fans were devastated when Bonnie Gold was killed by the Billy Boys, and neither he nor his father, Aberama Gold, will appear in Peaky Blinders Season 6. So, what would’ve happened if the Billy Boys never went after Bonnie in the hit TV series? Would his father still be alive, too? And who will the Billy Boys go for in season 6?

Why was Bonnie Gold killed in ‘Peaky Blinders’? His death devastated his father, Aberama Gold

Bonnie was a fan favorite after appearing in Peaky Blinders Season 4. Aberama’s young son was a beloved fighter who worked closely with Thomas Shelby and Shelby Company Limited. Unfortunately, the Billy Boys, led by Jimmy McCavern, decided to track down Aberama and Bonnie and kill Bonnie in season 5. Now, in Peaky Blinders Season 6, fans wonder what else the Billy Boys are capable of.

So, why did McCavern and his crew kill Bonnie? The Golds and the Peaky Blinders chose to shut down the pedophile ring led by the Billy Boys, so they chose to make a statement with the death. Unfortunately, this also led to Aberama on a revenge mission against McCavern, as he promised to avenge Bonnie’s death.

There’s a chance Bonnie wasn’t meant to die this way originally, too. notes actor Jack Rowan who plays Bonnie noted he had some conflicts in his schedule with another production, Noughts + Crosses. “I thank that team from the bottom of my heart for not recasting the character or not just leaving him out, they actually said let’s give him an ending,” Rowan told Radio Times.

So, what would’ve happened if the Billy Boys didn’t kill Bonnie? Aberama certainly wouldn’t have gone on a path of revenge against McCavern, for one. Additionally, he might’ve lived to see Peaky Blinders Season 6. At the end of season 5, Aberama attempted to kill McCavern at the same event the Shelbys hoped to assassinate Oswald Mosley. Unfortunately, someone killed Aberama before he could take out the leader of the Billy Boys, resulting in his death.

There’s a good chance Aberama would still be alive if Bonnie didn’t die, as he wouldn’t have made the risky move against McCavern. Additionally, we have yet to see the fallout with Polly Gray. Polly and Aberama were deeply in love and hoped to have a future together. Fans might’ve gotten a happier conclusion if Bonnie didn’t die.

Bonnie could’ve also assisted in the Mosley assassination had he lived. The gifted fighter may have been able to help with the event and leave Mosley dead at the end as intended. This also would completely change Tommy’s fate at the end of season 5. Instead of feeling desperation, the Shelby Company Limited leader would walk away triumphantly.

So, who will the Billy Boys go for next? The Shelbys and McCavern’s men struck a truce — but if they assisted in sabotaging the Shelbys’ plan to kill Mosley, we’re sure Bonnie’s death is just the beginning. Perhaps Arthur, Finn, or Polly will go down next.

Does Thomas Shelby die in ‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 6?

‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 6: Creator Describes Season as ‘A Tragedy’ for the Shelby Family

So, does Thomas Shelby die in the new season? At the end of season 5, fans see Tommy hold a gun to his head after his failed attempt at killing Mosley. And we know the Shelbys have enemies, so he could see the end of his life in Peaky Blinders Season 6.

It’s unclear how the series will end with Tommy. We imagine if he does die, the series creators will wait until the very end as World War II approaches. And despite the Shelby family’s enemies, it seems Tommy’s worst enemy is himself.

“The whole season is about the darkness of Tommy Shelby’s soul and psyche,” director Anthony Byrne said of season 5, according to “It’s what he loses of himself, each time that he goes around and around through these seasons.”
