The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is an American miniseries that aired on the Disney+ streaming service. The show is based on Sam Wilson as Falcon and Bucky Barnes as Winter Soldier, and it serves as a continuation after the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame shows Sam Wilson receiving the mantle of Captain America.

Sam Wilson is played by Anthony Mackie, has the alter ego of Falcon, and wields a wing pack that allows him to glide. Bucky Barnes, played by Sebastian Stan, is a bionic soldier that was created in the 1940s to serve in World War II.

He undergoes brainwashing that makes him a killing machine, but he eventually snaps out of it and deals with the aftermath of all the trauma he endured during his brainwashed days.

The series is exciting and action-packed, and it sets the scene for the fourth Captain America film that does not yet have a release date, according to Hollywood Reporter

Before the Captain America movies, many people weren’t even aware of the existence of the character Bucky Barnes. After The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was released and fans completed the miniseries, many wanted more Bucky content, largely because of Stan’s portrayal of the character

On the Marvel Studios’ Reddit page, one redditor commented that, “I always thought Bucky was an interesting character, but Sebastian Stan’s acting in FATWS made me like the character even more.” They continue to say, “[He] had a really good dynamic with Sam, especially in the fifth episode. More of them together please.”

Another redditor commented that, “I love Mackie and his friendship with Sebastian Stan, but Bucky deserves at least a show focused on him. Mackie can have his movie, but can we get a Winter Soldier show?”

Clearly, Stan’s portrayal of Bucky made fans more intrigued by the character than ever before, prompting them to want a Bucky-focused show with Stan as the lead. Time will tell if these wishes will come to fruition. Until then, fans will just have to wait and hope.
