Unfortunately for Tom Holland, he’s gained a reputation for spoiling aspects of his Marvel Cinematic Universe films to the public. He revealed that Peter Parker went to space in Avengers: Infinity War, and he spoiled his character’s death at the end of the third Avengers movie to an audience in a theater who hadn’t seen it yet. But, according to his Spider-Man: No Way Home co-star Zendaya, Tom Holland also reveals things he shouldn’t to those close to him.

Tom Holland told his ‘Spider-Man’ co-star, Zendaya, that Iron Man would die in ‘Avengers: Endgame’

The cast of Spider-Man: No Way Home, including Tom Holland and Zendaya, has made their rounds with press interviews and promoting the new film. And during an interview with Tara Hitchcock, she asked Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon about movie secrets.

“But as far as spoilers, I wish I didn’t know, I wish I didn’t know about Iron Man before that movie came out,” Zendaya said while looking straight at Holland.

The three of them started laughing, and Holland joked, “Who told you that Iron Man died? That’s terrible. That must have been really tough for you.” Meanwhile, Zendaya said, “I didn’t get to enjoy it in the theater.”

Clearly, Holland is the one who told Zendaya that Iron Man died in Avengers: Endgame. But, we’re glad that they can all joke and laugh about it.

The MCU actor is notorious for revealing spoilers

As mentioned previously, Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland telling Zendaya that Iron Man died is not the first time he’s spoiled MCU plot points. But he even admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that the world blew his tendency to spoil things out of proportion.

When the interviewer credited Holland for being tight-lipped in the past couple of years, he said, “Thank you. I appreciate that. It’s nice that someone has actually recognized that because I’ve spent the entire day doing press, and all anyone wants to know is what I’m going to spoil next.”

After realizing that fans loved when Holland accidentally revealed aspects of MCU films, Marvel leaned into it. They used his reputation as the spoiler king to promote some of their projects. But it’s clear that Holland has learned from his past mistakes and has gotten very good at protecting Marvel’s secrets.

How Tom Holland and Zendaya avoided revealing spoilers for ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Even though Tom Holland spoiled Iron Man’s death for Zendaya, she admitted to Digital Spy that her Spider-Man: No Way Home co-star has recently developed a “spoiler sense.”

Holland explained, “We’ve just developed an ability to spot tactics from journalists trying to get stuff out of us.”

“We had a genius journalist the other day. He lured us in with this game, and we were answering all these questions and having a really good time, and just at the peak of the interview, he asked a question about something to do with the Sinister Six,” Holland said.

“I did feel myself go to answer the question and then go, ‘Oh! I need to not talk about that now,'” he stated. “You just get used to it, and it’s something you’re aware of. When I was a kid, I was just so excited [but now] I’ve got a good spoiler sense.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, is now playing in theaters.
