‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 Episode 6 airs tonight, Dec. 9

Fans can rest easy because The Blacklist Season 9 is back from its holiday break tonight, Dec. 9. The sixth episode of the season will premiere this Thursday, and per IMDb, it is called “Dr. Roberta Sand, Ph. D.”

The synopsis for “Dr. Roberta Sand, Ph. D” reads, “The task force investigates a therapist who may be the key to the resurgence of an organized crime family. Red conducts an investigation of his own.”

The description doesn’t give too much away about the new episode of The Blacklist Season 9 airing tonight. But, hopefully, the hour will address some of the latest developments introduced in episode 5.

What happened in episode 5?

To prepare for the new episode of The Blacklist Season 9 tonight, we have to discuss all of the shocking reveals in episode 5, “Benjamin T. Okara (No. 183).”

The hour began with a new case and a new Blacklister. The FBI task force focused on tracking Benjamin T. Okara, the inventor of a directed energy weapon. They realize that Okara killed all of the scientists who worked with him. His goal was to destroy the weapon and kill anyone who could rebuild it. In the end, Okara blew himself up.

Elsewhere in the episode, Park got blasted by the energy weapon and was taken to the hospital. Fans finally met her husband, Peter, played by Colby Lewis, and the married couple learned devastating news. Park did not have cancer like she previously thought, but she was pregnant. Unfortunately, she miscarried the fetus.

As for the other characters, Harold’s wife, Charlene, lied for him and gave him an alibi during the murder of his former neighbor Doug Koster. Dembe finally opened the box Red gave to him seasons ago. And the episode ended with Red and Mierce in bed together as Red admitted, “I should never have come back.”

We expect the twists to continue in the new episode of The Blacklist tonight.

What can fans expect in the new ‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 episode tonight?

As mentioned before, the synopsis for the new episode of The Blacklist doesn’t give away too much regarding the plot. But the promo photos tell a different story.

Park’s husband Peter looks withdrawn in the “Dr. Roberta Sand, Ph. D” pictures while she tries to talk to him. So, Park and Peter might go through some marital problems following the miscarriage.

Unfortunately, The Blacklist Season 9 will be taking another break for the holidays after episode 6. The next airing won’t be until Jan. 6, 2022, so “Dr. Roberta Sand, Ph. D” will serve as the show’s winter finale.

The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 6 premieres tonight, Dec. 9, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
