‘The Blacklist’ Season 9: Is Park Going to Die?
The Blacklist Season 9 is making fans worried for many of their favorite characters. First, Aram almost left the show and the FBI for his new tech company. And, now, Park’s time on The Blacklist might be running out after Ressler delivered shocking news to her in episode 4.
‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 Episode 4 revealed devastating news regarding Park’s health
The majority of The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 4 centered around the team tracking down a Blacklister named “The Avenging Angel.” The Blacklister did whatever it took to enact revenge on those who she felt unjustly stole from others. In the end, Red finds “The Avenging Angel” and kills her. You know, just a typical day in the life of Red.
But one of the side stories of the episode is what caught our attention. Ressler’s doctor told him that it was unlikely that he would pass a urine drug test. And since Ressler desperately wanted to stay on the task force, he turned to Park for help. At first, she is hesitant, but she lets Ressler use her seemingly clean urine for his second FBI drug test.
Their actions are questionable, sure, but that’s normal for the characters in The Blacklist. It’s not until the drug test comes back that the other shoe drops. Ressler passes the drug test with Park’s urine and is reinstated in the FBI. However, the results indicate that the owner of the urine likely has some form of cancer. It’s not looking good for Park in The Blacklist Season 9.
NBC cast Park’s husband for ‘The Blacklist’ Season 9
We know that The Blacklist writers aren’t afraid to kill their characters, and season 9 would be no different. So, fans should be very worried for Park. Plus, it doesn’t help that her husband will soon appear in the show.
Per Deadline, actor Colby Lewis is slated for a significant recurring role in the current ninth season as Park’s husband, Peter. While fans have never seen his face until now, Peter was heard on the other side of a phone call in a previous episode.
The press release for the casting news describes Peter as “a ray of sunshine and an attentive spouse. Peter is protective of his wife, Alina, and deeply anxious about the danger she encounters at her job.”
It’s exciting that fans will finally get to meet Alina’s husband in The Blacklist Season 9. But it probably won’t be under the best of circumstances given the news that Alina may be dying.
Park joined the team in season 7
If The Blacklist Season 9 truly is Park’s time to go, she would’ve had a short run in the show.
Alina Park, played by Laura Sohn, first appeared in The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3 as a potential recruit for the FBI task force. Red wasn’t convinced that Park would be a good fit for the team, but she proved herself worthy. And she has been an integral member of the team ever since.
