‘The Challenge’: Is CT Tamburello Leaving After Season 37? Fans Suspect New Project Will Prevent Him From Competing

MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 cast wouldn’t be complete without CT Tamburello. The Challenge champion has become a legend in the game, and now that other greats (like Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio) appear to no longer compete, fans love to see OGs like Tamburello in action. Unfortunately, it seems some fans are nervous Tamburello may call it quits on the game completely.

MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 cast is the most diverse the network’s ever created. The show began with 17 international players competing alongside 17 U.S. players, and most of the international players competed in their rookie season. So far in the game, the veteran players managed to stick together and eliminate many of the newbies. But the dynamic of having so many rookies and many international players made Spies, Lies, and Allies stand out from all the rest.

CT Tamburello returned to The Challenge Season 37 cast after coming off of his season 36 win alongside Amber Borzotra. And he returned with a fitter physique. “I made some lifestyle changes,” he said during a confessional, Us Weekly reports. ” … I figured if I don’t have the element of surprise anymore with the dad bod, I might as well come in hot.”

Aside from starring in MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 cast, what is CT Tamburello’s job? It seems he’s taking a brief departure from reality TV to delve into the acting world. Tamburello is reportedly acting in a new reimagining of the 1920’s short story, The Most Dangerous Game.

So, what does this mean for Tamburello’s future as part of MTV’s The Challenge cast? Fans suspect this could be the end of the reality TV road for the champion.

“That’s great but means we won’t see him for awhile (or ever given his age),” a Reddit user noted. “Can’t risk getting hurt doing any Challenges before filming, and depending on the shots, filming can lock him out for six-nine months. This might be the end of the legend.”

“Good for him,” another Reddit user noted. “But also without him, Wes [Bergmann], or Johnny [Devenanzio], I am really concerned about what comes next for The Challenge. I care very little for the current class of vets.”

So far, Tamburello hasn’t mentioned anything about leaving The Challenge after season 37, though. He mentioned aging out of the game at 40 years old, but he’s still playing into his 40s now. There’s still hope he’ll stick with the show and film movies as a side project.

CT Tamburello’s net worth may grow if he continues into film

It’s unclear whether the shining veteran star of MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 cast will continue to play the game beyond the current season. But it seems possible CT Tamburello’s net worth could increase quite a lot if he starts to act in big-budget films. Currently, his net worth stands around $800,000, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Reddit users aren’t convinced Tamburello is getting paid big money for The Most Dangerous Game, though.

“Movies of this caliber take weeks, not months to shoot,” a Reddit user added. “He’s not filming an MCU movie, this will be a B-movie at best. No disrespect, it’s a big step for him regardless, but I doubt it takes him more time than filming a season of The Challenge.”

“This is a B-movie,” another fan wrote. “He probably makes as much doing a season of The Challenge as he will for this.”
