Those who’ve been keeping up with The Challenge: Total Madness have serious words for Zach Nichols. Jenna Compono competed for the big money, but a fight with Nichols totally took her out of the right mindset to compete. And some of his behaviors that were showcased mid-season were completely unacceptable.

Now, fans are scratching their heads as to why Compono and Nichols are engaged. Many of Compono’s followers continue to roast her as she posts sweet photos of her and Nichols. And her recent sponsored post dedicated to National Kiss Day is also getting a ton of unwanted commentary. Here’s what fans are saying.

Jenna Compono and Zach Nichols from ‘The Challenge’ are engaged

Compono and Nichols met years ago on The Challenge, and all of their ups and downs have been incredibly public. Despite all their challenges that fans have seen, the two are now happily engaged — and they seem to be doing better than ever.

At the end of 2019, Nichols got down on one knee during a Christmas trip to see Rockefeller Center in New York. “We went to see the tree every year since we met and a lot of memories have happened in New York City,” Compono told E! News. “I was so surprised and it was so sincere and sweet. I couldn’t be happier.”

It looks like Compono is way more focused on her upcoming wedding than she is on any future Challenges, too. “Right now all I’m really worrying about is the wedding because that’s in February and nothing is open, so I’m starting to freak out,” she told Entertainment Weekly after getting eliminated from Total Madness. “Our engagement party got pushed to August. So that sucks too.”

Their relationship has been controversial from the very beginning

As noted before, Compono and Nichols’ relationship hasn’t been smooth sailing. On Total Madness, Nichols wrongfully accused Compono of cheating on him after going through her direct messages from years ago. And on seasons prior to that, he also called Compono by the wrong name when talking on the phone with her, which had many assuming he was the one actually cheating. Not only that, but he was also accused of being on the dating app Bumble while with Compono.

Compono has had to defend her relationship to the public many times. After the footage from Total Madness was released, she took to Twitter to release a statement.

“There are no issues here,” she wrote at the end of a long explanation. “This fight was months ago in reality and we have moved past it and are happier than ever.”

Challenge fans haven’t been shy about slamming Compono for staying with Nichols after he showcased his abhorrent behavior. And they’re still criticizing her after her recent Instagram post that was sponsored by Kay Jewelers.

“We’re celebrating #NationalKissDay,” Compono captioned her post of her and Nichols kissing. “Today, you can share your kisses for a good cause! Post a picture through 6/28 with your loved one and tag #EveryKiss to help @kayjewelers raise awareness and show support for the LGBTQ+ community.”

One fan slammed Kay Jewelers and commented, “@kayjewelers really picked a winning couple. Verbal and psychological abuse are real.”

“I like Zack but u could do better!!!” another commented. “Not liking him so much ever since the last challenge when he made u come home!!”

Yet another wrote, “And look there’s jealous and controlling Zack.”

Compono doesn’t seem to pay any of these comments any mind. And it looks like she and Nichols are making things work no matter what fans say.
