MTV’s The Challenge: Double Agents was a wild ride full of twists, turns, and backstabs, and no one could’ve expected Amber Borzotra to pull out all the stops and win her rookie season. She paired up with CT Tamburello to dominate the final, and fans can’t wait to see her on future seasons. Unfortunately it looks like she’s cast as an alternate for season 37. Here’s what rumors suggest.

[Spoilers: Spoilers ahead for MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 casting.]

MTV’s ‘The Challenge’ Season 37 spoilers: Amber B. reportedly cast as alternate

Amber B. was a force to be reckoned with on Double Agents. Not only was she a rookie in the house, but she was on the bottom of the powerful Big Brother alliance. She won two Hall Brawls to earn her way to the final, and her partner, Fessy Shafaat, traded her at the last moment for Kaycee Clark. That proved to be a bad move on Fessy’s part, though. Kaycee was injured during her run in the final, and Amber dominated thanks to her past experience in marathon running.

Thanks to Amber’s glorious win, fans are fully anticipating they’ll see her again in season 37. But that may not be the case. A spoiler thread on Reddit states Amber’s an alternate and not part of the official cast listing.

It seems Amber quarantined at the filming location with the expectation she’d be part of the cast, too. But some suspect she chose to be an alternate. As of now, it’s not clear exactly what went on for her casting.

“I’m still so mad about Amber being an alternate,” a Reddit user commented. “I don’t understand the point of them bringing in 100 new rookies every season if they’re not gonna bring them back when they WIN.”

Who is part of ‘The Challenge’ Season 37 cast?

So, with Amber B. likely not part of MTV’s The Challenge Season 37 cast, who will be back to play? Fans will see plenty of familiar faces from Double Agents, according to Reddit. Nany Gonzalez, Tori Deal, Ashley Mitchell, Big T Fazakerley, Aneesa Ferreira, and Kaycee Clark are slated to return. Amanda Garcia from past seasons of The Challenge will also join the cast for the women.

As for the men, Double Agents returnees include Nelson Thomas, Nam Vo, Devin Walker, Fessy Shafaat, Cory Wharton, Josh Martinez, Kyle Christie, and CT.

There are a handful of rookies on the show this season as well. While Jay Starrett of Survivor fame was reportedly dropped from casting, fellow Survivor alums like Michele Fitzgerald, Michaela Bradshaw, and Tommy Sheehan are slated to try playing the game.

‘The Challenge’: Season 37 Production Consider Casting Jordan Wiseley With Ex Tori Deal

Aside from casting, it looks like other drama’s happening with MTV’s The Challenge Season 37. Production reportedly temporarily halted filming, and it seems to have something to do with following coronavirus (COVID-19) protocol. Fans suspect either a crew member or a contestant contracted coronavirus while filming the season.

Prior to filming Double Agents, the cast and crew were tested frequently and quarantined to ensure a coronavirus-free filming space. And those outside of the contestant bubble were kept separate from any of the players. It’s likely similar measures were put in place for season 37, but we can’t be sure.

Showrunner Emer Harkin told Variety a player who tested positive for coronavirus in the middle of their season would get sent home, and their dismissal would be addressed. We’ll have to wait and see if this scenario plays out on season 37.
