What you’ll need for Drummond’s Quick Millionaire Shortbread

For this quick and delicious dessert (find the full recipe at Food Network’s site) that Drummond notes is perfect for any size crowd or event such as a New Year’s Eve gathering, you’ll need chocolate graham crackers, chopped semisweet chocolate, coconut cooking spray, coconut oil, candy coated chocolate candies, chopped snack size chocolate-coated wafer candy bars, chopped chocolate-covered caramel peanut candy bars, chopped chocolate-covered caramel nougat bars, and a 27-ounce can of dulce de leche.

How to put her dessert together

A baking sheet is lined with foil and coated with the cooking spray. Now, the graham crackers can be laid out “in a single layer” and the pan is set aside.

To start this chocolate lover’s dream, the chopped semisweet chocolate is melted in “a heatsafe mixing bowl set over a pan of simmering water.” The coconut oil is added to the bowl and the mixture is heated until it’s smooth, stirring all the while.

Now the assorted chopped candy bars are assembled and combined in another bowl. The dulce de leche is heated in a microwave-safe bowl in 10 – 15 second increments until it has loosened up and is stirrable. Spread the dulce de leche over the graham cracker base in the baking sheet. Drummond notes that the spread should reach just “nearly to the edges” of the crackers.

Pour the melted semi-sweet chocolate over the dulce de leche and, “working quickly,” arrange the chopped candies over the melted chocolate. Chill uncovered in the refrigerator for about two hours and then cut into small squares. Enjoy!

Reviewers went ga-ga for Ree Drummond’s Quick Millionaire Shortbread

Home cooks loved this candy-rich, caramelly, crunchy treat. With all that candy, what’s not to love?

“Great recipe! Easy to make and everyone loved it. Will definitely make again!,” said one reviewer.

Another fan added, “I made this once and gave half to my daughter’s family too! We all loved it and making it again for our Halloween party my daughter puts on every year!! Ree it is such a delish and fast dessert, so fun, thank you!”

Other reviewers noted adjustments they made to Drummond’s recipe and reported that they still enjoyed the snack.

A five-star review noted, “Made it without the candy topping.” Another reviewer cited dietary concerns saying, “Made this, minus the [chocolate-covered caramel peanut candy bars] due to severe allergies. Used almond M&M’s for the nut crunch instead. FABULOUS!”

Finally, another home cook reassured those hesitant to try the recipe to give it a go saying, “I love these! When I first saw her make this I didn’t think I would like it, the graham crackers are too hard. They soften in the fridge and they are sooo good, my whole family loves them. Plus they are so easy to make!”
