Tori Spelling was born into Hollywood royalty. The only daughter of the late Aaron Spelling and Candy Spelling, the starlet, started her career young with roles in her famed father’s shows. However, that doesn’t mean she’s rolling in the dough.

Over the years Spelling has weathered one scandal after another. Her first marriage imploded amid her infidelity. Then her seemingly perfect second marriage hit the skids after it was revealed Dean McDermott was regularly stepping out on the mother of five. Her career has tanked, and an estrangement from her mother prior to Aaron Spelling’s death left her with a pittance of an inheritance. So, where does the Hollywood princess stand today financially?

What is Tori Spelling’s net worth?

Tori Spelling’s net worth is just a fraction of what many believe it should be. Recently the IRS drained Spelling’s bank account to settle a tax lien. Now that the $700,000 bill is paid, Spelling’s net worth is valued at just $500,000.

Spelling has chronicled her money troubles on her reality television shows, Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Home and True Tori. Spelling also famously alleged the couple’s business advisor informed them they could not afford a vasectomy, leading many to wonder precisely what Spelling was doing with all of her cash.

Why is Tori Spelling estranged from her mother?

Tori Spelling has been open about her strained relationship with her mother, Candy Spelling. In several of her non-fiction books, Spelling chronicles the strained relationship, and where they both went wrong. When Spelling gave birth to her first child, Liam, the mother and daughter were not on speaking terms.

They have since tried to mend their relationship, but it remains complicated and somewhat strained. According to US Weekly Candy pays all of the expenses for Spelling’s five children. The elder Spelling also dislikes Tori’s husband, actor Dean McDermott, which further complicates the relationship between mother and daughter.

Was Tori Spelling written out of her father’s will?

When Aaron Spelling passed away in 2006 his massive fortune was up for grabs, but Tori and her older brother Randy did not receive a windfall, at least not if you look at it from their perspective. At the time of his death, Aaron Spelling was worth an estimated $600 million. Tori and Randy each received $800,000 from their father’s estate. The bulk of the TV mogul’s fortune was left to his wife and the mother of his two children, Candy.

Candy Spelling explained to The Daily Mail, that Tori tended to overspend significantly. She noted the starlet often shut down entire stores in her early 20s and could easily drop $50,000 a day. Candy went on to suggest that Spelling’s spending habit was the reason that she was left out in the cold when Aaron died. She did not elaborate on Randy Spelling’s inheritance.

How does Tori Spelling make money now?

While Spelling’s marriage appears to be on the rocks, and her familial relationships are rocky at best, the former Hollywood hotshot has thrown herself headfirst into work. She currently has a jewelry line that is being sold on HSN, and she teased a potential television series starring her longtime friend and fellow 90210 alumni Jennie Garth. While there is potential for future earnings, Spelling’s financial situation remains precarious, according to The Mercury News.
