‘WandaVision’ spinoff featuring Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness has a name

On Disney+ Day, Marvel Studios announced that they had greenlit the Agatha Harkness WandaVision spinoff. And it will be titled Agatha: House of Harkness.

While Disney did not release many details other than the name of the spinoff, they did mention that it will be coming soon to Disney+. Whether “coming soon” means sometime in 2022 or three years from now is unknown. Fans will just have to sit back, rewatch Agatha Harkness in WandaVision, and wait for the new spinoff.

Everything we know about the spinoff

Not much is known regarding the plot details of the WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: House of Harkness. Whether it will be a prequel or sequel to the popular Marvel Disney+ show is unknown. The last time that fans saw Agatha, Wanda had stripped the witch of her powers. Then, she turned Agatha into the role she had initially cast herself in — Agnes, aka the nosy neighbor.

However, we know that the project hails from WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer. Schaeffer will write and executive produce Agatha: House of Harkness. After the success of WandaVision, Schaeffer signed an overall deal with Marvel and 20th Century Television in May 2021. So, this upcoming Marvel Disney+ show will be the first project under her new agreement.

And thanks to a tiny detail from the original report, we know that the Agatha Harkness-centric WandaVision spinoff is described as a dark comedy. What else would the fans expect? But, hopefully, there will also be a few more catchy songs like “Agatha All Along” in the new show.

Hahn revealed she wanted to play Agatha Harkness from ‘WandaVision’ before the spinoff news broke

After WandaVision ended, many fans wanted to see Agatha Harkness back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, apparently, so did Kathryn Hahn. During an interview with Variety, Hahn discussed playing Agatha again.

“I don’t know, I hope somewhere, I hope anywhere,” Hahn said. “I love her madly. Listen, I’m with you. But who knows?”

Marvel has taught her well because the actor probably already knew that the spinoff was in development during the interview. She fits in quite nicely with the secretive employees at Marvel Studios.
