‘When Calls the Heart’: Will There Be a Hearties Family Reunion in 2021?

Since 2016, loyal ‘When Calls the Heart’ fans (aka Hearties) have been gathering for the Hearties Family Reunion, where they meet the show’s cast and visit the set. But the last event took place in 2019, and no future events are currently scheduled, organizers told Showbiz Cheat Sheet.

If you love When Calls the Heart, chances are you’ve heard of the Hearties Family Reunion. This multi-day gathering offers a chance for super-fans of the Hallmark Channel series — who’ve dubbed themselves Hearties — to meet cast members, visit the set, and connect with others who love the show.

The first Hearties Family Reunion took place in 2016 and quickly became a beloved tradition. But it’s been nearly two years since the last such gathering, which took place in Vancouver in October 2019. So, will the event return in 2021?

What is the Hearties Family Reunion?

The Hearties Family Reunion is a special event for fans of When Calls the Heart. The organizers call it a “one-of-a-kind fan experience” and “an amazing behind-the-scenes opportunity for fans to visit the set of Hope Valley, meet the cast and crew, and interact with other Hearties from around the country and globe!”

The most recent event lasted several days and included appearances by many When Calls the Heart cast members. Erin Krakow, Pascale Hutton, Kavan Smith, Chris McNally, Kevin McGarry, Jack Wagner, Andrea Brooks, Aren Buchholz, Loretta Walsh, Ben Rosenbaum, and Javien Natt were among the cast in attendance. Those involved in the show behind-the-scenes also participated, including Brian Bird and Michael Landon Jr. Author Janette Oke, who wrote the novels that inspired the show, was also there. In other words, the Hearties Family Reunion is basically a dream vacation for Hearties, especially because it involves a visit to the Jamestown Movie Site, aka the real-life Hope Valley.

No Hearties Family Reunion is scheduled for 2021

Sadly for fans, there aren’t any concrete plans at the moment for a sixth Hearties family reunion.

“Currently, we do not have a future Hearties Family Reunion scheduled,” the event organizers told Showbiz Cheat Sheet in an email. However, fans should keep an eye on the Hearties Family Reunion website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts “for updates as they become available.”

Though there’s no Hearties Family Reunion on the horizon, dedicated fans may be wondering if it’s possible to visit the show’s set.

When Calls the Heart is filmed on the Jamestown Movie Set. The set is located on MacInnes Farm, a working family farm in Langley, British Columbia. It has also served as a filming location for a number of other shows and movies, including Scary Movie 4, Riverdale, and Once Upon a Time, owner Melanie MacInnes said in a 2019 interview with My Devotional Thoughts

It is possible to take tours of the farm when production is not happening. However, those have been suspended until further notice because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, according to the farm’s website
