Before Prieto began dating Michael Jordan, she was in a relationship with Enrique Iglesias’ older brother, Julio Iglesias Jr. In a 2003 interview with Hola! Magazine, Iglesias gushed about his then-girlfriend.

“She’s a fantastic girl, and I like her,” the singer said. “Aside from her beauty, which is obvious, she is [a] loving, simple, and very good person.”

After their breakup, Iglesias married model Charisse Verhaert in 2012.

How did Michael Jordan and his wife, Yvette Prieto, meet?

The six-time NBA champion met his future wife, who is 20 years his junior, in 2008 at a nightclub. They began seeing each other, and their relationship got serious when they moved in together in 2009. Two years later, he proposed.

Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto’s wedding was a star-studded affair that cost upward of $10 million.

The pair said “I do” at Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida, on Apr. 27, 2013. The bride wore a custom J’Aton Couture gown, made with French silk and lace embellished with Swarovski crystals. The dress also featured a cathedral train.

After the ceremony, the couple celebrated at Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Florida. According to Echo Fine Properties, the lavish event had “amazing floral arrangements with tulips, roses, peonies, crystal candelabras, [and] private cigar rooms.”

The couple chose a seven-layer white rum cake decorated with crystal broaches, and the guest list boasted famous athletes and celebrities such as Tiger Woods, Spike Lee, and MJ’s former Chicago Bulls teammate Scotty Pippen. Music artists Usher and Robin Thicke sang at the reception.

This is the first marriage for Prieto and the second for Jordan. The NBA Hall of Famer was married to Juanita Vanoy from 1989 to 2006.
