We can’t think of any couple busier than Chip and Joanna Gaines. Though we’re no longer getting any new Fixer Upper episodes, Chip and Joanna still have their realty business, restaurant, books, festivals, side projects — and of course, five kids to care for. And though the couple does an excellent job at keeping their home life as private as possible, it has many fans wondering if they’re planning on homeschooling all their kids, too.

Here’s why some think Chip and Joanna are definitely up for taking on every home-improvement project possible and still homeschooling their children.

The kids were on the set of Fixer Upper frequently

If you’ve seen the beloved HGTV show in the past, then you’ve definitely seen some of the Gaines kids help with the homes. We remember watching Joanna and Chip’s little girls help with gardening, laying tile, and decorating before the big reveal. And Drake and Duke, the two eldest sons in the family, also assisted their father with demolition day.

We love that the Gaines family incorporates the whole family in their ventures. But we also wondered if some of the kids participated in these events while school was in session. To have them help with the homes, homeschooling makes more sense here.

Their massive estate requires all hands on deck

We have major farmhouse envy when it comes to the Gaines household. This 1,700 square foot Victorian home is located in a suburb of Waco, Texas, and sits on 40 acres of land. And their home and farm aside, Wacoan notes they have a massive garden that runs 600 square feet. As Joanna told the magazine, “It’s bordering on the side where it’s too big, where I’m starting to need help. When you have that many tomatoes you have to pick, it’s like a full-time job.”

There’s plenty of photo evidence showing how much the kids help out — and if they were homeschooled, there would be even more time for them to get the hang of caring for the home. Since homemaking, building, and family are much bigger priorities to Chip and Joanna than learning about the newest gadgets and keeping up with technology, homeschooling just makes sense.

Chip and Joanna’s religious community members often homeschool their families

One of the biggest reasons fans suspect the Gaines kids are homeschooled is due to their religious community. Romper notes the Gaines family belongs to the Antioch Community Church in Waco. According to the church website, “a large percentage of our members choose to homeschool their children.” The website also mentions, however, that it’s totally up to the parents in this case — and there are many members who choose public or private school for their little ones. Even so, we know how religious Chip and Joanna are, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they were part of the large homeschooling community.

Chip and Joanna left Fixer Upper to be with their children more

There was a lot that went into the decision to quit Fixer Upper — but for Chip and Joanna, it was all about their kids. People reports the Gaines parents really didn’t want their children to grow up in the spotlight. Instead, they wished to give them a chance at a totally normal childhood by now cutting out the cameras.

Since the Gaines’ are all about family, homeschooling falls in line with this. We may never know for sure, but we do know that Chip and Joanna expect their kids to head off to college at some point, as that’s when they’ll finally get their own smartphones.
