4 Times Jenelle Evans Has Made Accusations About David Eason…and then Dropped Them
Reality TV relationships are known to be messy. Still, Jenelle Evans and David Eason’s marriage, divorce, and seemingly rekindled romance have got to be one of the messiest. David and Jenelle appear to be playing nice now, nearly a year after their divorce was finalized. Still, it has been a very bumpy road. Let’s take a look back at the things Jenelle has accused her ex of, before seemingly walking much of it back.
Four times Jenelle Evans openly slammed David Eason
Jenelle Evans has a lot to say, and she isn’t afraid to say it on the internet. What Jenelle doesn’t seem to factor in is that the internet is forever. While she has routinely slammed her ex-husband on social media, often in the heat of a fight, she just as quickly tries to walk back some of her more explosive statements.
In 2023, David Eason was charged with felony assault by strangulation and child abuse in connection with an alleged incident involving Jenelle’s teenage son, Jace; that criminal case remains pending. After her split from David, Jenelle made it clear to the courts that she feared for the safety of her children, pointing to the incident as a deciding factor. When she briefly returned to Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, she even sat Jace down to talk about what happened. During the scene she asked how he felt with David no longer in the picture. More recently, as the two have grown closer again, she has softened her public stance on that incident.
Jenelle also alleged that David was a deadbeat dad who had gone more than a year without contact with the daughter they share. Over the course of 2024, she took regular shots at him for this lack of involvement. She even insinuated that he was too busy with his girlfriend to act like a father. Now, though, Jenelle insists David is an active and involved dad who is simply trying to effectively co-parent their young daughter with her. Social media followers have found the about-face a bit absurd.
Evans took shots at Eason’s living and employment situation following their split, too. She made it clear, multiple times while they were apart, that she was the family breadwinner and that David had taken advantage of her income for his own benefit. The criticism followed years of Evans publicly defending Eason and his work situation.
Finally, and most seriously, Jenelle accused her ex-husband in court of possessing material related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. Testifying tearfully at a 2024 custody hearing, she said she had found memory cards from David’s phone. She claimed she reported what she saw to police, the FBI, and the family court. A search warrant was later issued for Eason’s electronic devices, but, according to authorities, no charges were ever filed. Since she and David began spending time together again, Jenelle has not publicly revisited the accusation. Eason has not been charged in connection with the claim.
So… are they back together?
Jenelle Evans won’t say she’s dating David Eason again. Still, the shift in her social media habits and the time the two are very clearly spending together suggest a reconciliation. The reunion appears to have started in January 2026. That month, Eason flew from North Carolina to Las Vegas to see their daughter, Ensley, during a hospitalization. What began as a hospital visit turned into an extended stay, with the exes spotted dining together. The pair soon began following each other on social media again. Per one outlet, they even spent Valentine’s Day together in Sin City.
Sightings have continued through the spring, including multiple outings in Las Vegas. Tellingly, Evans even publicly defended Eason against his ex-girlfriend amid online drama. It was a decided odd move given everything she has said about him.
