90 Day: The Last Resort has made a habit of dropping its most troubled couples into jaw-dropping locations and letting the drama unfold. From Florida beaches to Arizona deserts, each season has brought a new backdrop, but thus far, they’ve stayed stateside. That is all changing now. Season three is raising the bar considerably, with a breathtaking stay at a historic castle. Here is a look at every filming location the show has used.

Season 3: Thornbury Castle, England

For its third season, 90 Day: The Last Resort is going truly royal. Six couples will spend three weeks immersed in the rolling hills of the English countryside. They will be staying just outside Bristol at the historic Thornbury Castle. The centuries-old estate was once owned by King Henry VIII and his wife, Anne Boleyn. The setting could not be more fitting for a show built on the idea of second chances.

The castle was built over 500 years ago by Edward Stafford, the Third Duke of Buckingham. He was the country’s second-richest man at the time and wanted the castle to represent his wealth and status. Stafford, however, was later found guilty of treason and executed. The castle, built to show off his wealth, was seized by the king.

Henry VIII eventually took Anne Boleyn to Thornbury for a romantic getaway before all went awry. She was later executed on charges of adultery, incest, and conspiracy against the king, according to Smithsonian Magazine. The castle is historical, but it’s also unique in one major way. It is the only Tudor castle in England to be opened as a hotel.

Season 3 premieres on Monday, June 1, at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.

Seasons 1 and 2: Florida and Arizona

While season 3 of 90 Day: Last Resort will go international, the first two seasons kept the couples closer to home with stateside stays at resorts.  Season 1 was filmed at the Isla Bella Beach Resort in Marathon, Florida. Season 2 shifted filming to the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa in Arizona.

The premiere season’s filming location, set lazily in the Florida Keys, is a luxury beachfront property that offers stunning white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and lush greenery. The tropical atmosphere offered the couples a sunny, laid-back setting, giving them room to breathe and relax. Despite the relaxing atmosphere, things got plenty dramatic.

Season 2 shifted the mood considerably. The couples headed to the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia. The resort is seated at the base of Camelback Mountain. Over the course of three weeks at the Arizona resort, the couples worked through issues with a variety of different methods, including pleasure mapping. While Omni Scottsdale doesn’t have the same sordid history as Thornbury Castle, it offered a raw and wild backdrop for the emotional growth, or, in some cases, demise, of the couples.

Considering how much TLC has upped the ante on season 3’s filming location, we are excited to see what might come next for 90 Day: Last Resort.
