After Jennifer Lawrence Comes Clean About Breast Augmentation, Plastic Surgeon Reveals Why Other Women Want Her Look
There was a time when Hollywood celebrities remained tight-lipped about what cosmetic surgery they had. But today, more and more stars are opening up about the procedures they’ve had done, and that includes Jennifer Lawrence.
The Academy Award-winning actress just admitted in an interview with The Cut on Oct. 27 that she had a “boob job” after her second child because “I want to be a sexy mom. At drop-off, I want to look like a woman that has her s*** together even when I’ve just woken up and don’t have my s*** together.”
Now, a surgeon has weighed in on Lawrence’s procedure and revealed that today many other women are also opting for a more subtle look when getting breast surgery over obvious-looking implants.
Dr. Omar Tillo, plastic surgeon and Medical Director at CREO Clinic, told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Looking at Jennifer Lawrence, there’s no obvious, dramatic change in her figure, which goes against what a lot of people picture when they hear the words ‘boob job.’ People tend to associate breast surgery with going up several cup sizes, but that’s not what every woman wants.
“I see plenty of women who are happy with the size of their breasts but aren’t happy with how they sit, particularly after having children. Others have lost a bit of fullness and want that back without looking noticeably bigger. There’s a big difference between wanting larger breasts and wanting your breasts to look the way they used to. And you don’t necessarily need implants to achieve the latter.”
When asked whether he believes Lawrence had implants or a lift, the surgeon opined, “She could have had implants, a breast lift, or a combination of the two. If she did have implants, something in the region of 200–300cc could give a relatively subtle increase in volume, depending on her natural breast tissue and proportions. But I wouldn’t claim to know her implant size, or even whether she has implants, from photographs.
“A breast lift is another possibility. It doesn’t involve adding volume, but by removing excess skin and repositioning the breast tissue, you can make the breasts look firmer and fuller, particularly if they’ve changed after pregnancy. People are often surprised by how much difference a lift alone can make. You can change the shape of the breasts quite significantly without actually making them any bigger.”
Dr. Tillo added, “There’s also the option of breast fat transfer, where we take fat from another area of the body and inject it into the breasts to add volume. It’s something women don’t always realize is possible, and it can be a good option for those who want a relatively small increase in size without having implants. And that’s why I wouldn’t try to identify someone’s exact procedure from a few photographs. The same outward appearance can be achieved in different ways.”
