Amy Duggar King has been pretty outspoken about her rift with the Duggar family. Still, the family’s “rebellious” cousin spent enough time around her uncle, Jim Bob Duggar, and aunt, Michelle Duggar, to know how family drama is handled. In fact, she’s so confident in her past experiences that she thinks she can pinpoint exactly how the Duggars have talked Kendra Caldwell into standing by her man, accused pedophile, Joseph Duggar. Amy suspects her aunt and uncle are promising her money and security if she just stays put.
Amy Duggar King thinks the Duggars are buying Kendra Caldwell’s silence
Kendra Caldwell doesn’t appear to have any plans to leave her husband, Joseph Duggar, despite the very serious charges he’s facing. Kendra made it pretty clear in several jailhouse calls that she’s standing by him and still loves him. In fact, her stance might be causing strife with her family. Amy Duggar King thinks she knows why Kendra is sticking around.
The only niece of Jim Bob Duggar took to TikTok to offer her own theory about why Kendra Caldwell is not leaving Joseph Duggar. She’s confident her uncle is buying her off. Amy told her audience that she expects her uncle to have already used god’s stance on divorce, Kendra’s own vows, and her need for financial security to convince her to stay. She thinks that Jim Bob has promised her that he’ll pay the bills and “take care” of everything, as long as she sticks around.
Amy contends it is just part of the Duggar family’s playbook. Duggar family followers have long suspected that is how Jim Bob kept Anna Duggar from leaving Josh Duggar when he was arrested. Critics suspect she would have stayed regardless, though.
A brief overview of Joseph Duggar’s arrest
Joseph Duggar was arrested on March 18 for lewd and lascivious behavior against a minor under the age of 12. The arrest, which took place in his hometown in Arkansas, stemmed from a 2020 incident in Florida. The victim, now 14, just came forward to reveal that Joseph Duggar molested her while on a family vacation.
According to an affidavit, the victim told police that in 2020 Joseph touched her genitals and thighs. The victim was 9 at the time. She said the former reality TV star tried to get her to sit on his lap. He also allegedly urged her to get under a blanket with him. The unnamed teen told her father about the incident. He then went to the police, who performed a forensic interview on the victim.
Joseph was held at the Washington County Detention Centerfor more than a week before he was extradited to Bay County, Florida. His brother, Josh Duggar, was housed at the same facility in 2021. Once in Florida, Joseph was released on a $600,000 bond. He was spotted leaving Florida the same day. Jim Bob Duggar accompanied him.. He has remained under the radar since. It is assumed he is with Kendra Caldwell, though.
Joseph will return to Florida for another court date later this month. Kendra is due in court this month on unrelated charges, too.
