Hundreds of stars gathered for the 2026 Met Gala in New York City, and fans couldn’t wait to see all the fashions. Many were also interested in the interactions between the A-listers as they greeted each other before heading into the event.

One viral clip that has raised eyebrows is Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian‘s interaction with Bad Bunny.

The ladies are very familiar with the Puerto Rican superstar as he dated Kendall Jenner for nearly a year. They broke up in December 2023, then briefly reconciled in May 2024 before separating again in September of that year.

So could the chilly reception when Kris and Kim saw Bad Bunny stem from him being Kendall’s ex? Or is it possible that the women didn’t recognize the musician who showed up to the event looking a few decades older after working with renowned prosthetic makeup artist Mike Marino? Speaking on behalf of Casino.org, Honigman told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “When Bad Bunny approaches Kris Jenner, he expects family warmth but receives a cold, friendly response. His arm embraces her, which we can all see, but there’s a subtle move that we almost miss. While he extends his awkward hug, he doesn’t just reach out his arm, but in addition, he leans his head towards her, leaning right into her personal space like a cuddle — but she doesn’t lean her head back.

“It would appear that Benito expects a full, warm family cuddle, for their heads to meet in the middle. But Kris is not prepared to share this level of warmth. She’s not returning his hug. Kris looks towards Bad Bunny, following him with her eyes, but doesn’t squeeze her body towards him for a hug, not at all.”

Honigman added, “Similarly, Kim gesticulates towards the musician animatedly. She’s friendly but keeps a safe distance. The ladies are happy to acknowledge Benito and interact with him, but he won’t get any warmth from them, as their loyalty is to Kendall.”

And regarding Kim, another expert opined that something looked a little off when she walked the Met carpet.

Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. He previously worked as a police officer and used his expertise to uncover the truth when interviewing hundreds of suspects. He later moved into media and TV as a consultant and has been dubbed the “Human Lie Detector.”

Speaking on behalf of Covers, Stanton noticed that the reality TV star “appeared slightly annoyed whilst walking the carpet. She was frowning and walking up the stairs fairly quickly, not pausing there for photos. She also kept glancing towards the paparazzi with a slightly frustrated expression — pulling a bit of a scowl.”
