Ben Affleck’s 17-Year-Old Roasted Him for Giving Relationship Advice: ‘Like You’re the Expert?’
Ben Affleck has not had much luck with relationships over the years. The actor has been married twice, and both ended in highly publicized divorces. He said that his kids are well aware of his romantic woes. When he tried to offer relationship advice, he said his kids immediately started to make fun of him.
Ben Affleck said his kids don’t want his relationship advice
Affleck shares three children with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. He said that when he tries to offer advice, they often brush him off.
“Now I give advice and try to talk to them, parent them as you do,” he said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. “What I found is that now it’s not only one teenager rolling their eyes; I’ll kind of launch into something at the dinner table and I’ll catch them giving each other looks and I realize I’m the caricature in this story.”
He said that this is especially the case when he tries to offer relationship advice. He wanted to weigh in with his opinion.
“My kids are talking at dinner and they’re talking about their friends and the drama and the relationships and I have some lived experience, I think, that’s worth sharing, some lessons,” Affleck said. “You know, these are the kind of things we give to our children.”
Affleck said his kids had little interest in what he had to say about romance.
“I’ll say, ‘You know, well the thing about that relationship there…’ and the 17-year-old turns to me and goes, ‘Oh, like you’re the expert on relationships?’” Affleck said.
He said his child often makes fun of him
He said that his 17-year-old child doesn’t just rib him about his romantic advice.
“I was with the same kid, I went to the bookstore with them and you know how they put all the displays with the books up, you see the titles, we’re just browsing around some book by a French guy and it’s called I’m Sorry for Everything,” Affleck recalled. “My kid immediately just turns to me deadpan and goes, ‘Oh look, Dad, it’s your autobiography.’”
He said he couldn’t even fault his kid for the insult.
“I was kind of proud of them though I’m like, ‘My kid skirts the line, I like that.’”

Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are reportedly trying to rekindle things for a third time. Sources claim that they are talking more frequently since their divorce.
“They spend a lot more time together than anyone realises,” a source told Heatworld.
She reached out to him after his mother died.
“Jen really stepped up to support Ben when his mother died, and that meant so much to him,” the source said. “He let his guard down, and he’s been leaning on her – and she’s starting leaning on him too because she’s having a hell of a time right now. Her schedule is so packed, and she keeps taking on more, to the point where people are worried she’s going to have a breakdown.”
At this point, though, they have not said anything about the rumored romance.
