King Charles III and the former Prince Andrew might be brothers. But the two men couldn’t be more different, an astrologer once observed.

Astrologer Penny Thornton said Prince Andrew was ‘easy-going and cavalier’

“Charles and Andrew appear to have as little in common astrologically as they do in real life,” astrologer Penny Thornton – who worked closely with Princess Diana – observed in her 1988 book Romancing the Stars: The Astrology of Love and Relationships.

Charles, destined to be king, was “fundamentally an ultra-sensitive Scorpio loner” with a strong sense of duty, she wrote. At the time, he was “an enigmatic character” who was “poles apart from his charismatic, debonair brother.” The Pisces Andrew, on the other hand, was “easy-going and cavalier.”

Thornton went on to share a number of seemingly prescient insights about Andrew, decades before his spectacular fall from grace due to his association with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew is the sort of “Pisces man … who expects to be forgiven for his indulgences, extravagances, and idiosyncracies” and sees himself as an “endearing rake,” she observed. She blamed his “occasionally outrageous behavior” – including an incident when he sprayed reporters and photographers with white paint – on his Ascendant Uranus, noting that people with this placement observe “their own unique code of morality.”

But not of all of Thornton’s observations align with Andrew’s behavior. She also thought he had a “highly developed instinct for the right action in moments of danger and crisis.” But that was certainly not on display during his infamous interview with BBC’s Newsnight in 2019, where he tried, and failed, to explain his continued association with Epstein.

Former Duke of York would be tempted to ‘evade responsibilities’

Still, Thornton was spot on when she wrote that for Andrew, as with any Pisces, “the temptation to escape and evade responsibilities and commitment is ever-present.” Critics have frequently slammed the former Duke of York for trying to dodge the consequences of his actions, including his refusal to apologize for his friendship with Epstein, his steadfast denial that he abused Virginia Giuffre when she was a teenager, and his recent efforts to challenge the legality of his arrest earlier this year.

“Andrew doesn’t know what the problem is,” royal expert Andrew Lownie told Page Six, before the former duke’s arrest in February. “Andrew believes he’s been hard done by, he’s a victim in all of this, he’s being persecuted,” he added. “He’s a narcissist and he’s never been disciplined.”

Recently, a court ruled that the warrants used to search Andrew’s homes in connection with his arrest were unlawful. He reportedly views that as a major victory and may even be pressing his elder brother to restore his titles.

“Andrew thinks he’s been vindicated,” a source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack. “He believes the authorities got it wrong, and now he wants everyone who turned their backs on him to admit they were wrong, too.”
