Ex-Prince Andrew’s Friends Pushing Him to Take Legal Action Against King Charles: Report
The man once known as Prince Andrew is feeling emboldened after a legal victory in the U.K. And he could be considering going after his brother, King Charles, next, according to a new report.
On Thursday, a court in the U.K. ruled that the warrants police used to raid Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s homes earlier this year were unlawful. The decision was a rare moment of triumph for the embattled royal, who was stripped of his royal titles in late 2025 and has been pushed out of a public role in the royal family because of his association with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Now friends of the former Duke of York are allegedly urging him to take legal action against Charles over the monarch’s decision to strip him of his titles and status, according U.K. tabloid The Mirror.
“He remains the son, brother and uncle of future monarchs,” a royal source said. “Most people don’t realize that technically he is still the Duke of York – he still insists on being called ‘Sir’ and ‘Duke’ at home. Only an Act of Parliament can extinguish his title.”
After his recent court victory, Andrew reportedly believes he’s on his way to winning back his former role in the House of Windsor.
“Andrew thinks he’s been vindicated,” and insider told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack (via Yahoo!). “He believes the authorities got it wrong, and now he wants everyone who turned their backs on him to admit they were wrong, too.”
Andrew “wants his prince title back,” she source added. “He wants his royal status restored. He wants his old life back. In Andrew’s mind, this ruling changes everything. … Andrew thinks winning this battle in court means he can win back the Palace.”
