Mike Tyson is sharing new details about his friendship with Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The legendary boxer recently chatted with Bravo’s Andy Cohen about the upcoming Netflix documentary about his life, as well as his connections to Diddy and Donald Trump.

“Yeah, I’m friendly with Puff, yeah,” Tyson said during his October 8 appearance on Andy Cohen Live on SiriusXM.

Tyson, who served three years in prison in the 1990s after being convicted of rape, said he was surprised by the effort prosecutors went to in their efforts to put the hip-hop star in prison.

“Listen, I was surprised that they went through so many lengths to get him,” he said. “They used a 110-year-old rule to get him. That case [was] 110 years ago, but they used it to get him.”

In his 2025 trial, Combs was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking but convicted of prostitution-related offenses under the Mann Act. He is serving 50 months in prison at FCI Fort Dix.

The Mann Act is a 1910 law that makes it illegal to transport people across state lines for the purposes of prostitution. The federal law has previously been used to obtain convictions against other high-profile figures, including R. Kelly, Chuck Berry, boxer Jack Johnson, and Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

Tyson gave Donald Trump a letter from Sean Combs

Tyson told Cohen that he has been in touch with Diddy.

“I spoke with him once on the phone, yes,” he said. “He wanted me to give a letter to the president.”

Cohen asked if Tyson had delivered the letter.

“I did what he told me to do, yes,” he replied.

Combs has reportedly been seeking a pardon from President Donald Trump. In January, insiders told The Sun that Tyson personally delivered Combs’ letter to Trump when he visited the White House in November 2025.

“Mike had a meeting with one of Diddy’s closest confidantes and he handed him a letter from Diddy,” the source said.

The former heavyweight champion was allegedly “nervous” about being asked to deliver the request, but did agree to share it with Trump.

“Mike said he had handed the letter to Trump and did exactly what Diddy’s lot had asked of him,” the source said. “It wasn’t something he was expecting when he met with them, but Mike did what he was asked.”

Trump has said that he received a pardon request from Diddy. However, he has not yet acted on it, despite having pardoned several other high-profile figures in his second term.

Tyson has long had ties to Trump. Their relationship dates back to 1998, when Trump paid $11 million hold a boxing match between Tyson and Michael Spinks in Atlantic City.

“Paid a lot of money for that fight, and it was worth it,” Trump said in an interview for Tyson, which premieres October 13 (via USA Today). “[Tyson] had the lens on him more than anybody in the world at the time, only because he was winning.”
