Diddy Could Have ‘Put a Hit on Somebody’ With Contraband Prison Phone, Insider Claims
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ pampered prison life could have a serious dark side, an insider says.
Recently, a bombshell report from NBC News revealed that the disgraced rapper was using his considerable wealth to enjoy various perks behind bars. The Bad Boy Records founder was paying fellow inmates at FCI Fort Dix to cook, clean, and give him massages, sources said. He also had access to prescription drugs and top-shelf liquor. And he was able to watch movies and TV shows – including Netflix’s docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning – on an illicit tablet. Plus, he had a cellphone where he could scroll Instagram and receive explicit photos an old girlfriend sent to him.
Now, a source is claiming that Diddy’s phone, which he can be seen using in video footage obtained by NBC, could have been used for more nefarious purposes.
“You can put a hit on somebody with a phone in prison,” Jose Rojas, union secretary for AFGE Local 506, told NBC News. (The AFGE is the union representing workers at federal prisons.)
Diddy’s release date pushed back because of prison cellphone, insider claims
There’s no evidence that Diddy used his phone to order an attempt on anyone’s life. But just having it in his possession is a major red flag, and it likely led to him being stripped of 41 days of “good conduct time,” pushing his release date from January to March 2028, according to online records.
“This is among the most serious penalties,” Rojas said.
The Bureau of Prisons does not comment on individual inmates for “privacy, security, and safety reasons,” a spokesperson told NBC.
In addition to losing some of his good behavior days, Diddy was also sent back to solitary confinement following the NBC News report. It’s his second time in the special housing unit this year. He previously landed there after a fight with another inmate.
Combs is currently serving 50 months on prostitution-related charges after being convicted during a high-profile 2025 trial. However, he was acquitted on the more serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking.
