Layla Taylor Says Stepping Back From Taylor Frankie Paul Is a Mental-Health Necessity
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Layla Taylor said that she wants nothing to do with Taylor Frankie Paul. The pair have clashed on the show, and Layla doesn’t think they will ever be friends again. She explained that her behavior put her off. While she wishes her former castmate well, she is not interested in mending fences.
Layla Taylor says she doesn’t want a friendship with Taylor Frankie Paul
Taylor recently announced her exit from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. She is the latest cast member to leave the show. Layla said that the remaining cast members get along well.
“For the women that are still involved, [we’re] strong,” she told E! News. “You’ll see a lot of a healthy dynamic in season six, and I’m excited for the audience to see that.”
Layla said she is hoping for the best moving forward, despite all the drama amid her fellow cast members.
“Right now, I’m just day by day,” she said. “This is obviously such a hard experience, and everything that’s been happening has been very hard to navigate.”
When asked if she believed there was a path forward for her and Taylor, Layla had a simple answer: No.
“I think for me personally, the behaviors in her relationship were hard to watch, and then she started to be hateful towards me and my friends and say some really harmful things,” she said.
She said that she hopes that Taylor can move forward healthily, but she doesn’t want to be a part of her life. She added that this is for her own well-being.
“I wish her well,” she said, “but I think personally for me and my mental health, I need to take a step back.”
Taylor Frankie Paul responded to Layla Taylor’s comments
Taylor frequently responds to her castmates when they speak about her, so it comes as no surprise that she issued a statement about Taylor. In a recent TikTok comment, Taylor gave an irritable response.
“I wonder if she knows she can talk about other things too?” she wrote. “Then again, it was the only clip of her talking that made headlines.”
She added: “Can’t blame her.”
She is not certain of her future with the show
While Layla will appear in season six of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, she admitted that she isn’t sure about her future on the show. Her friend, Mikayla Matthews, recently announced her exit because of Taylor’s involvement. Layla said that she might follow her friend out the door.
“I just love [Mikayla] so much,” she wrote on Instagram. “It’s such an impossible situation for everyone involved but I’m finishing out season 6 and then tbd.”
The sixth season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will likely air in 2027.
