Long-Dormant BET+ Series ‘The Black Hamptons’ Revived at Paramount+ for Season 3
BET+ may be no more, but Paramount+ isn’t giving up on its biggest shows.
On Thursday, the streamer announced renewals for four series that previously aired on BET+. (In late July, BET+ shut down, with its content folded into Paramount+.)
Paramount+ renews ‘The Black Hamptons’ and three other shows
The renewals include Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sistas for season 3 (16 episodes), Tyler Perry’s Zatima for season 6 (16 episodes, The Family Business for season 7 (10 episodes), and The Black Hamptons for season 3 (10 episodes).
The news that The Black Hamptons is returning is something of a surprise. The show debuted on BET+ in 2022, with a second season premiering in late 2023. Since then, it’s been crickets, leading fans to wonder if it had been quietly canceled.
Now, we know that the show – which stars Lamman Rucker, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Elise Neal, Brian White, Karon Riley, and Mike Merrill – will return for 10 more episodes. In the third season of the show, which is based on Carl Weber’s bestselling novel, “the Britton family faces high tensions with the newly arrived Johnsons in the upscale Black town of Sag Harbor, New York.”
Carl Weber is an executive producer on both The Black Hamptons and The Family Business.
“NOW YALL CAN STOP ASKING BECAUSE WE’RE BACK BABYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!” Merrill and Riley wrote in a joint Instagram post after the renewal news.
“Time for the best brother Duel on television to return! “MORTIMER, WE’RE BACK!” Riley added in a comment.
‘The Black Hamptons’ Season 2 ended with a mysterious death
The Black Hamptons Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger, with a mysterious body washing up on the beach. Fans have been waiting a long time for answers.
“I need a minimum of 10 episodes! Yall left us with a cliff hanger,” one person commented on Instagram. I was so ready to see what Moses had planned for Carolyn! And who washed up on the beach lol.”
Paramount+ has not shared an update on a third Carl Weber series, The Family Business: New Orleans. That show, a spinoff of The Family Business, premiered in January 2025 on BET+. It has not been officially renewed or canceled.
The Family Business and The Black Hamptons are both streaming on Paramount+, along with Tyler Perry’s Zatima and Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sistas.
