Fans can’t wait for Beyoncé to eventually release Act III of her planned three-part musical trilogy, as they already love Acts I and II. Unfortunately, they may have to wait longer than expected.
According to Today, fans have developed theories surrounding the release of Act III. Beyoncé is set to co-chair the Met Gala with Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour on Monday, May 4, 2026. Additionally, the singer/songwriter posted photos of herself on Instagram wearing a billowing purple dress, prompting speculation that a big announcement is on the horizon.
A source close to the star confirmed to Today that Beyoncé is not releasing Act III next week — the week of the Met Gala. Not only that, but Beyoncé’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, also squashed the rumors on X. “This is unequivocally false!!” Noel-Schure commented on a post suggesting that Beyoncé was announcing the album next week and releasing the album over the summer.
Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones discussed the subject on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle. “In the middle of the night, a very reliable source in the wee hours, wee hours, called — now this is not ‘reliable source,’ friend of, this is a reliable source,” Bush Hager said.
“Except Beyoncé didn’t call me, otherwise I would not be here. I would be running in the streets,” Jones continued.
“No, no, it’s not the most reliable, but it’s pretty reliable,” Bush Hager added. “And we don’t want you to be disappointed, so brace yourself, sit down. We can report: Act III is not coming out next week. Sorry.”
Bush Hager then clarified that Act III is indeed “coming” — just not yet. “We’re better now. We’ve had some time to sit with this news,” she added. “We hope you guys at home can sit with this news.”
