On a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Bronwyn Newport admitted her marriage ended when her husband, Todd, forgot her 40th birthday. She said that because this was her first birthday since her father’s death, it felt particularly brutal. Despite this, footage from her social media account shows the former couple, at the very least, celebrating the end of her 30s.

Bronwyn Newport said the final straw in her marriage came when Todd did nothing for her 40th

During the RHOSLC season 7 premiere, Bronwyn spoke about the end of her marriage to Todd. She said she realized it was over after her 40th birthday.

“I was surprised Todd didn’t do anything for my 40th — no card, no gift, no party,” she said. “It was my first birthday since my dad passed, and that was really, like, the death of it.”

She referred to this as the “final straw,” but acknowledged that they’d been heading towards a breaking point for a while.

“Ultimately, I realized I had been by myself in that marriage for a long time, and I had to get myself out,” she said.

She noted that their marriage had once been good, but they were in a different phase.

“I don’t think everybody else understands that there’s a period of time with Todd that I really loved,” she said. “We’re just not in that period of time anymore.”

Bronwyn shared footage of her and Todd celebrating her birthday

While Todd may not have done anything on Bronwyn’s actual birthday, the couple did celebrate the end of her 30s. In footage that Bronwyn shared to her Instagram Stories on Sept. 10, 2025 — her birthday — Todd played Quidditch.

“Spent my last weekend as a 39-year-old playing faux Quidditch at the Harry Potter exhibition,” she wrote in the caption.

She laughed as Todd missed a shot.

“He can’t make a single one,” she said.

She wants to maintain a friendship with her ex-husband

Bronwyn no longer wants a romantic relationship with Todd. She wants to maintain a friendship with her ex, though. While she said that navigating divorce isn’t easy, they are still on good terms.

“Divorce and mediation really suck,” she wrote. “But every once in a while, I’m down the block from his office, and he happens to have time to get an app and catch up.”

“And we manage to laugh and give each other life advice only we could get away with telling each other (truly, he’s so blunt and I’m opinionated),” she continued. “And it’s nice to see a glimpse of the friendship I hope we find a way to pull off one day.”

In August, Bronwyn shared a photo of her and Todd watching a baseball game at Yankee Stadium.

“Even a divorce couldn’t make us rivals, so we went to watch a baseball rivalry instead,” she wrote. “From getting married at a baseball stadium to hanging as buds at one across the country!”

It seems that they are succeeding in keeping things as friendly as possible.
