Connor Storrie Just Scored His First Emmy Nom, But Not for ‘Heated Rivalry’
Connor Storrie is now an Emmy nominee!
The breakout star of the steamy Crave/HBO Max drama Heated Rivalry was among the lucky few who heard their names during Wednesday’s Emmy nominations announcement. But he didn’t get a nod for playing pro hockey player Ilya Rozanov. Instead, he’s in the running for best guest actor in a comedy category for his role hosting Saturday Night Live back in February.
“SNL was such a ‘pinch me’ moment in my career,” Storrie told The Hollywood Reporter after he learned of his nomination. “It was a formative part of my life growing up, so to be recognized by the Academy for hosting feels incredibly surreal. I’m so grateful to everyone who made that night possible.”
While some devoted fans might be disappointed that neither Storrie nor his co-star Hudson Williams were recognized for their work in Heated Rivalry, their absence from the nominees list is no snub. The show was not eligible for any Emmy nominations because it’s an entirely Canadian production.
Heated Rivalry did clean up at the Canadian Screen Awards (CSAs) in May, winning in 16 categories, including best drama series and best lead performance, drama, for Williams. Unfortunately for Storrie, he wasn’t eligible for the CSAs because he’s American.
