Dannielle Merrifield’s Mother’s Day Post Sparks Backlash From ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Fans
Dannielle Merrifield marked Mother’s Day with a gushing Instagram post that had some fans of Seeking Sister Wife raising their eyebrows.
In her post, the Colorado mom spoke about how lucky she felt to be a mom of four. But she neglected to mention that one of those four children is actually the daughter of her sister wife, Lorrana, who has reportedly left her and Garrick Merrifield just months after giving birth to his child.

“God says children are a blessing from him…Being a mom to me means acknowledging all the people that helped you along the way…acknowledging the fact that without these individuals you would not be a mom at all,” Dannielle captioned her May 10 post, which featured a slideshow of photos with her kids. The last image appeared to show her holding Lorrana’s daughter shortly after her birth.
“I am so thankful to all my family (blood or otherwise) that have supported me…praise be to God alone for allowing me to mother these 4 beautiful children,” she continued.
Dannielle is a mom to three kids – two boys and a girl – with Garrick. She and Garrick have starred in Seeking Sister Wife since 2021, which has chronicled their fraught attempts to add a second wife to their family. In season 3, she even legally divorced her husband so that he could marry Roberta, a woman from Brazil. That relationship eventually fell apart, as did several others, but in season 5, which aired in 2025, Garrick finally tied the knot with another Brazilian woman, Lorrana.
In July 2025, Lorrana gave birth to her and Garrick’s first child. But cracks soon appeared in their polygamous family dynamic. In November 2025, Garrick and Lorrana were involved in a domestic incident. She’s since made several posts on social media suggesting that she’s left Garrick and Dannielle.
Did ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ star shade her husband’s other wife?
Given the complicated situation with Lorrana, some Seeking Sister Wife fans thought it was odd that Dannielle would talk about being a mom of four.
“She is shading her sister wife with the caption…big time,” one person wrote. Another went so far as to accuse Dannielle of engaging in “trafficking women from Brazil.”
“And Lorrana where’s her happy mother’s day?” someone else asked.
A few commenters urged Dannielle to leave Garrick. Throughout her time on the TLC show, Dannielle has expressed how emotionally difficult it is to see her husband pursue other women, leading many fans to believe she is not fully on board with his dream of a polygamous lifestyle.
“Truly hope you find your own happiness away from your madman of an ex-husband,” one wrote.
“I wish you would gain the courage to leave him already,” another wrote.
