‘Earle Meets World’ Will Feature Alix Earle’s Feud With Alex Cooper
Alix Earle has built a social media empire by letting fans in on her life, from late-night confessionals to unfiltered “get ready with me” videos. Her social media following and her high-profile romances have made her one of the most recognizable creators of the decade. Now, she’s parlaying her celebrity status into television. Earle, along with her family, is letting the world in on their lives in an upcoming reality TV series, Earle Meets World, and she is holding nothing back, including her feud with podcast queen Alex Cooper. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming series.
What the Show Is About
Per Netflix’s official logline, Earle Meets World follows “Gen-Z’s ultimate It Girl” as she makes “the next big jump in her career,” while asking whether she can balance that ambition with being the “unfiltered, twenty-something, hot mess that America fell in love with.” The series is produced by Ben Winston’s Fulwell Entertainment, alongside David Grutman’s DGN Studios, with Paul Loban, Charlie Van Vleet and Evan Rosenfeld also credited as producers.
Earle has positioned the reality TV series as an expansion of her already unfiltered online persona, rather than a different project entirely. “I’ve shared my life for years through my own camera, but this felt like the next phase because it’s a chance to go deeper,” she told Netflix’s Tudum. “Not just the highlights, but the real moments, too. The vulnerable ones, the hard ones, and the fun, chaotic ones in between.”
Meet the Earle Family
While Alix Earle is undoubtedly the most famous member of her family, the series won’t be a solo project. Instead, it will revolve around her large, blended family, including her sister, Ashtin, and her parents, TJ and Alisa Earle. Alix’s stepsiblings and her parents’ partners will also be included in filming.
Netflix is the streaming giant that landed the family’s story, but they aren’t the only ones who have offered up the concept. Earle has said the family had been approached about a reality TV series multiple times over the years but held off until absolutely everyone was on board. Now that they are on board, the cameras won’t stop rolling.
The Alex Cooper Feud Takes Center Stage
Earle Meets World might revolve around the Earle family as a whole, but there is one massive feud that will serve as a main focus. Alix Earle’s feud with podcast queen Alex Cooper will be included in the first season of the series. The feud, years in the making, exploded on social media several months ago, with Cooper calling out Earle for what she called “passive aggressive” behavior. While Alix Earle insisted she’d tell her story on social media, she stopped short of actually doing so.
Now it appears Earle Meets World will finally give the content creator a large platform to tell her side of the story. Initially, she was reluctant to cover the feud on the show, telling TIME there was a lot of emotional turmoil about the choice, until her family showed up to support her. It is unclear exactly how much of the show’s first season the feud will take up, but it appears to be a central storyline.
When to Watch
Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see the Earles as reality TV personalities. Earle Meets World premieres Friday, September 4, on Netflix. The first season consists of eight episodes. The series will be in good company at Netflix, which has taken a gamble on several family-based reality shows in recent years, including My Unorthodox Life. The series appears to be a direct competitor of Hulu’s Love Thy Nader.
