Geoffrey Paschel played the role of a fun-loving country boy on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. But it was all an act, his ex-girlfriend says in the new season of Netflix’s Worst Ex Ever

Kristen Wilson opens up about her violent and dysfunctional relationship with Geoffrey in season 2 of docuseries. She says when they first connected on a dating site in December 2017, he seemed like the total package. But as the relationship got more serious, she discovered her boyfriend’s darker side.

Geoffrey’s troubling behavior is no surprise to 90 Day fans. While he was appearing in season 4 of Before the 90 Days with his Russian girlfriend, Varya, it was reported that he was facing charges for violently assaulting a previous partner – Kristen. In 2022, he was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

But all that was in the future when Kristen swiped right on Geoffrey’s profile. Initially, she found the single dad charming and funny. But gradually, “red flags” started to pop up. She learned he had not just one ex-wife, but four former spouses, as well as additional children he hadn’t mentioned. He’d also lied about his name. And once she discovered his real identity, she quickly learned that he’d been arrested on multiple occasions and served time on drug charges.

“He had completely lied and bamboozled me,” she said.

When Kristin confronted Geoffrey about his lies, he gaslit her. Eventually, their arguments turned violent. Still, Kristen did not walk away. In fact, the two even got engaged.

“I was just so incredibly in love with him,” she recalls.

But things did not get better. One night, he attacked her, smashed her head into the floor, and shoved her into a wall.

“I genuinely thought he was trying to kill me,” she said.

After the attack, she fled to a neighbor’s house, and Geoffrey was arrested. But that was far from the end of the story.

Geoffrey Paschel chased fame on ‘90 Day Fiancé’ despite arrest

As Kristen put her life back together after ending things with Geoffrey, he moved on to his next chapter: reality TV star. When his season of Before the 90 Days premiered in early 2020, she realized that he must have been planning to film the show while they were still together.

“Appararently he was in a whole other relationship with someone from Russia during our engagement,” she said.

A month after Geoffrey assaulted in Kristen, he was heading to Russia to meet Varya in person for the first time, TLC cameras in tow.

“I’m sure he’d already been cast when my assault happened,” Kristen said. Still, she wondered why the show’s producers decided to feature him in the first place, given that “he had several criminal convictions before he was on 90 Day Fiancé.”

“They aired the episodes anyway,” she said.

Initially, Geoffrey – who’d also worked as an actor in reenactments on true-crime TV shows – came across well on TV.

“A lot of people really liked him on the show. He’s portrayed as a very likeable, charismatic, strong, hardworking, All-American country boy,” said Court TV anchor Ashley Willcot.

Being on the show fed Geoffrey’s ego, those who knew him say. But even as his fame grew, prosecutors in Tennessee were putting together a case against him. After rejecting a plea deal, he went to trial in October 2021 for assaulting Kristen. In a surprise move, he testified in his own defense. Willcot theorized that he believed he would be able to “manipulate” the jury into believing his story. But they didn’t buy it. After just a few hours of deliberation, he was found guilty.

At his sentencing, one of Geoffrey’s ex-wives came forward with a harrowing tale of abuse she’d suffered at his hands. That account, combined with Kristen’s testimony and his prior convictions, led to a stiff sentence. He won’t be eligible for parole until 2040, much to Kristen’s relief.

“I’ve never felt more seen, more vindicated,” she said. “It was truly an absolutely amazing moment.”
