Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker’s Sister Are Feuding: Everything That’s Been Said Since His Death
Ken Urker’s death has shocked fans who watched his complicated and messy relationship with Gypsy Rose Blanchard play out. The former couple’s romance was dramatic, and the fallout from his sudden death is proving to be the same. In the days since he was found dead inside his home, Blanchard and Urker’s sister, Autumn, have been trading barbs and offering very different accounts of Urker’s final weeks. Ken Urker was found dead on his birthday
Ken Urker was found dead inside his Louisiana home on October 1, which would have been his 34th birthday. When he couldn’t be reached, Blanchard’s half-brother went to the Raceland home along with Urker’s boss. Urker was found unconscious in his bed and was later declared dead.
Authorities found no evidence of foul play, and the cause of death has not yet been determined. Blanchard quickly spoke out, telling People she believed he died of an overdose. She also took to Instagram to pay tribute to her former partner, writing that Ken “was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved” and calling him her soulmate and “red string.”
Ken Urker’s sister speaks out
Urker’s sister, however, believes there is a very different story to be told. On October 2, Autumn Urker claimed in interviews that Blanchard was being misleading about Ken’s death and the state of their relationship when he died.
She pushed back against the suggestion that Blanchard’s unanswered birthday text was the reason someone went looking for Urker. She also accused Blanchard of telling people the two were engaged and planning another child together, when, according to Autumn, they had split more than a month before his death.
Autumn further said the family was disgusted by Blanchard’s public comments and that Blanchard had not yet reached out to them. In a video circulating online, Autumn accused Blanchard of pushing a false narrative and referenced Dee Dee Blanchard in a heated remark about protecting her brother.
Gypsy Rose fires back
Gypsy Rose Blanchard didn’t let Autumn’s comments slide. In a statement to Us Weekly on Saturday, she said she doesn’t want Ken’s death to become centered on “negativity or disagreements” between herself and Autumn. She said she remains in communication with Ken’s family and that, apart from Autumn, those exchanges have been positive and respectful. But she also suggested the two had never gotten along, saying Autumn had long disapproved of the relationship.
Blanchard also turned the focus back on Autumn, claiming Urker told her during their final phone call that Autumn had threatened to escalate her public criticism, and that the situation left him deeply distressed.
Neither woman has commented further as of publication, but with both airing their grievances publicly, more is likely to come.
Ken Urker and Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s relationship timeline
Ken Urker and Gypsy Rose Blanchard first connected in 2017, when he wrote her a letter of support in prison, where she was serving time for her role in her mother’s murder. Urker proposed in 2018, but they split before her release. Blanchard went on to marry Ryan Anderson, who was featured on her reality show, before the two separated. In 2024, shortly after her split from Anderson, Blanchard went public with Urker again.
Their renewed relationship, her pregnancy, and the birth of Aurora in December 2024 were documented on Lifetime’s Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up. Little is known about their most recent split.
