Fan-Favorite Biblical Drama Gets Season 3 Renewal
David’s story will continue in House of David Season 3, Prime Video announced Friday.
The renewal of the epic biblical drama from Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios comes as the series has captured the attention of millions of viewers. The show’s first season, which premiered in February 2025, had more than 40 million viewers. Season 2 launched in October 2025.
‘House of David’ Season 3 will be a ‘defining’ chapter for David
House of David follows the journey of David (Michael Iskander) from lowly shepherd to eventual King of Israel. Season 3 will follow him “through one of the most defining chapters of his life,” creators and executive producers Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn said in a statement.
“We are incredibly grateful to fans around the world who have embraced House of David … Whether audiences have known David through Scripture or are encountering him from a fresh perspective, we hope the series continues to reveal why his story has resonated across generations,” the pair said.
In the third season, David’s journey will come “full circle from outcast shepherd to fierce warrior, to his ultimate destiny as King,” Prime Video shared in a press release. “But before the throne, there is exile. David is a hunted outlaw, forced to hide among his enemies and live yet another dangerous lie. This chapter explores the true cost of destiny — the betrayals endured, the identities shed, and the sacrifices demanded of a hero before he can rise to the throne.”

In addition to Iskander, House of David stars Ali Suliman as King Saul and Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam. Other cast members include Indy Lewis, Yali Topol Margalith, Ethan Kai, Sam Otto, Oded Fehr, Louis Ferreira, Davood Ghadami, Ashraf Barhom, and Alexander Uloom.
House of David Season 3 will pick up after the events of the season 2 finale, with David forced into exile by Saul. The show’s sophomore season was a “transformative” on for David, Iskander said.
“We see this kind of young boy, this young shepherd transform and become a man and become a warrior,” he told Showbiz Cheat Sheet in an interview last year. “[He becomes] someone who is confident in himself, someone who is confident in God’s plan for him, and someone who’s not afraid to step up to the truth and to fight for what’s right.”
House of David Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Wonder Project and Prime Video.
