Inside Lamine Yamal’s Mansion That Shakira Used to Own
Lamine Yamal has become one of soccer‘s biggest young stars and has even drawn comparisons to some of the greatest players to ever step on the pitch.
FC Barcelona extended Yamal’s contract through June 30, 2031, and not long after his 18th birthday in 2025, he purchased a stunning property in one of the most sought-after residential areas just outside Barcelona.
The athlete’s abode is in Ciutat Diagonal, a private residential area in Esplugues de Llobregat, an affluent suburb within the Barcelona metropolitan area. It was once owned by Latin superstar Shakira and her ex, FC Barcelona legend Gerard Piqué.
Shakira and Piqué initially split in June 2022, and the footballer left the residence while the singer and their two sons moved out in April 2023. The home sat empty for years and stayed on the market before the deal with Yamal closed in October 2025.
The luxury estate, which was listed for $16 million and is located only minutes from FC Barcelona’s training facilities, was built in 2012. It’s two connected homes comprising over 13,000 square feet, with the main villa spanning nearly 10,000 square feet. It features six bedrooms and five bathrooms.
Fans got glimpses inside the property over the years when Shakira and Piqué still owned it. The main living space opens directly to a garden through floor-to-ceiling glass walls for an indoor-outdoor style. There’s also an open kitchen with top-of-line appliances.
Some of the home’s other amenities include two swimming pools (one indoor and one outdoor), a home gym, a library, and a recording studio.
Yamal reportedly has plans to remodel some of the property to suit his lifestyle with a physical therapy/recovery room, more sports courts, advanced security systems, and converting Shakira’s recording studio into a media room or game room.
