Jennifer Lopez Rescued After Losing Her Balance on City Street
Jennifer Lopez traveled to the City of Lights to attend Paris Fashion Week and kick off her birthday celebrations with her sister, Lynda. While there, JLo made plenty of headlines for her outfits, from her dramatic couture gown by Stéphane Rolland to her sheer ensemble with colorful sequins and crystals by Celia Kritharioti.
But Lopez also went viral when she was captured on video almost taking a tumble in the street. Luckily, one of bodyguards was nearby to save the day before the superstar faceplanted on the concrete.
Lopez’s bodyguard catches her mid-fall
On July 10, Lopez and company were seen exiting a vehicle just outside a restaurant where they were headed for dinner. But the “On the Floor” singer, who was donning a beige midi dress with a brown belt and heels, mistepped after she got out of the vehicle and lost her footing.
Her sister noticed her and reached her arm out, but Lopez’s longtime bodyguard was already on it. He caught JLo almost immediately, steadied her, and successfully prevented a fall. After her recovery, the actress tried to smile brightly as they walked inside.
Several videos surfaced online of the moment, with many saying that Lopez is only human and must have been embarrassed as they praised her bodyguard for his quick reflexes.
“Great catch,” one person wrote, and “Give him a raise,” said another.
A third commented, “That is a nasty misstep! It happens to everyone sometimes. It can hurt quite a bit, especially with those high heels. Luckily, she has her bodyguard catching her. Besides being a celebrity, she is still a human being, you know.”
Lopez faces backlash for breaking rules with over-the-top appearance
Days after Jenny from the block’s bodyguard saved her from what could have been a disaster, she attended Wimbledon and made headlines again. This time it was for what she was wearing, which has been dubbed as “inappropriate” and “ridiculous.”
On July 12, Lopez was spotted alongside other celebrities in the Royal Box watching the men’s singles final. She wore a sleeveless beige Ralph Lauren dress and woven stiletto sandals with a large, wide-brimmed hemp-blend hat. However, the 17-inch accessory on her head had people questioning how anyone behind her could see the match.
“Wearing a hat like that in a place where people behind you watching the same game you are is rude,” one social media user wrote.
“I pity the persons who sat behind you,” added another, while a third posted, “She doesn’t care whose view is blocked.”
A fourth person wrote, “The hat is a bit much taking into consideration the people behind and next to you.”
And a fifth chimed in, “JLo looks ridiculous in that hat. Pay attention to me as usual.”
As some also pointed out, the hat goes against Wimbledon’s rules because it obstructs other spectators’ views, potentially making it a “nuisance or annoyance” under the tournament’s conditions of entry.
