Love Island’s Winning Couple Faces Brutal Long-Distance Reality Check
Bryce Dettloff and Trinity Tatum are the winning couple on this season of Love Island USA. The couple has been one of the most consistent throughout this season, and exchanged “I love yous” shortly before winning. While they said they are looking forward to their future, they face some challenges moving forward. They live on opposite sides of the country from one another.
Bryce and Trinity were the winning couple on this season of ‘Love Island’
Bryce and Trinity have been solidly together since the first coupling ceremony. In the finale, they beat out Carl Schmidt and Aniya Harvey, Sincere Rhea and Melanie Moreno, and Zach Georgiou and Kayda Bosse to take home the $100,000 prize.
“I’m just so overwhelmed,” Trinity said. “I never would’ve expected in a million years that I’d be in this position right now. … I’m grateful that he chose me to be his partner, inside of here and outside.”
Bryce said he was looking forward to life outside the Villa with Trinity. They confessed their love for one another during their final on-air date.
“I do love you so much,” he said. “Every day feels so special with you, and I can’t wait for life outside of this. I’m just so happy to be with you.”
Bryce and Trinity live across the country from one another
While the couple is looking forward to life after the reality series, they will have to navigate a long-distance relationship. Bryce lives in L.A., and Trinity lives in Virginia. During their first date, they discussed the logistics of this.
“You come to L.A. I just want you to know you can stay as long as you want,” he told her on their first date. “The door’s open.”
“I want to go to Virginia,” he added. “I want to see how you grew up.”
After they won, he said that Trinity was hoping to come to L.A. with him. He didn’t clarify if she meant to move there permanently or just visit.
“I think most people are going to L.A., and Trinity’s coming to L.A. with me too,” he said.
He hopes to have their first official date in the city.
“I want to take her surfing,” he said, adding, “I want to teach her how to surf. I have a couple spots in L.A.”
The show will have a reunion later this summer
On August 31, 2026, Ariana Madix will host a reunion for Love Island USA season 8. According to USA Today, the Islanders will gather “for an up close and personal look back at their experience in the Villa.”
The reunion will air on Peacock at 9 p.m. ET.
