‘Love Island’: Sincere’s Chat With Melanie Was a ‘Tactic of Conquest,’ Said Body Language Expert
During Love Island USA’s Movie Night, Melanie Moreno learned that Sincere had not been truthful with her about their relationship. He explored connections with other women on the show. Melanie appeared devastated as she watched this, but a later conversation with Sincere seemed to set her mind at ease. A body language expert believes that he was utilizing manipulation techniques.
Sincere spoke to Melanie about their relationship
After Movie Night, Sincere and Melanie spoke about their relationship. She admitted that she struggled to trust him after Movie Night.
“I know that I like you, I know that I have feelings for you,” she told him. “But after Movie Night, I am a bit afraid.”
He immediately tried to reassure her, saying that Movie Night embarrassed him, and he doesn’t want to hurt her again.
“The way that I’ve made you feel made me look at myself and, like, feel that kind of shame because I could tell that I really did hurt somebody that I care about a lot,” he said. “That’s not a feeling I ever want to feel again, and I don’t want to ever make you feel like that ever again, and I’m not going to make you feel like that again.”
He then told her that he wants her to eventually be his girlfriend, fiancée, wife, and the mother of his children. She hugged him and thanked him for saying that.
A body language expert believes that Sincere was calculated in his conversation with Melanie
Celebrity body language expert Inbaal Honigman with Casino.ca does not have as much trust in Sincere as Melanie did. She believes that he was telling him what she wanted to hear.
“Sincere approaches the conversation cautiously, gingerly, while fixing Melanie with a direct, hard stare. There’s a tactic to his eye contact,” she explained. “Every word is calculated, and his unflinching eyes look directly at her, assessing her response. If she appears happier, he says more of the same sort of words. If she appears dismayed, he’ll change his strategy.”
She believes that his talk about their future was a manipulation tactic. He could tell that Melanie was softening towards him.
“Sincere aims to please; he’ll say whatever he needs to say to make sure that Melanie responds positively,” she said. “When Melanie smiles, this gives him the assurance that his strategy is working, and that’s when he starts riffing about the future that he sees for the pair of them. This is a tactic of conquest, not an authentic show of love.”
