Jenny Slatten has been diagnosed with ALS.

The 90 Day Fiancé star shared the news in a May 19 Instagram post, where she addressed speculation about her health.

Jenny said that she and her husband Sumit Singh, 38, initially kept quiet after receiving her diagnosis in December 2025.

“At first, we tried to keep it private because it’s been very emotional and overwhelming for us,” she explained. “We were hoping to find some kind of solution before speaking publicly. But after trying for some time, we feel like it’s time to reach out. Thank you so much for all the love and support. Right now, we are open to any kind of help — treatments, clinical trials, lifestyle changes, or anything that could help treat this disease or slow down its progression.”

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive, fatal motor neuron disease that causes the degeneration of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. While there are treatments than may help manage symptoms or slow progression of the disease, there is no cure.

‘90 Day Fiancé’ star Sumit says he has ‘never felt this much love’

In an interview with People, Jenny opened up about learning she had ALS one year after troubling symptoms started to appear. The first warning sign was when she choked while drinking water. She also began experiencing migraines, trouble swallowing, and slowed speech. While they initially thought she had an infection, the couple eventually reality it could be something far more serious.

Last December, Jenny made a trip to New York City for a 90 Day cast holiday party. Fans noticed the change in her speech during an interview, and one suggested she might have ALS. Sumit looked into the disease and immediately feared the worse. Not only did Jenny’s symptoms align with those of ALS, but he remembered that her father had died of the disease. After multiple tests and doctor’s visits, they got the bad news.

“We cried and held each other,” Jenny said once a doctor finally informed them that she did have ALS.

For now, the fan-favorite couple will remain in India. They are focused on living life to the fullest while managing Jenny’s condition. The pair are also set to star in the upcoming season of 90 Day: The Last Resort, which premieres June 1 on TLC.

Sumit added that his love for Jenny has not dimmed, despite her daunting health challenges.

“Honestly, I never felt this much love, or I can love anyone this much,” he said. “I used to … live for myself. But from [the] last so many years, I feel like doing [things] for someone who you love gives you happiness, I think that’s what love is. And that’s why we do things for each other, and that’s what make each other happy.”
