Jeremiah Duggar and his wife, Hannah, shocked the internet on August 8 when they announced the surprise arrival of baby #4. The couple used Instagram to update followers on their big news, sharing a photo of them as a family of six. They opted not to share details about their new arrival’s birth, nor did they reveal the baby’s name or gender. Still, based on the baby’s outfit, it appears they have welcomed their first boy together.
While followers were surprised by the big news, there had been chatter that Hannah appeared to be expecting in recent uploads. Followers noticed her looking visibly pregnant at Duggar family events. Still, the decision not to announce broke from the couple’s tradition. Most of the time, they’ve shared a pregnancy announcement with followers. That decision may be in part due to changing expectations on the family, and the Duggar family’s current legal drama.
How many kids do Jeremiah and Hannah Duggar have?
Jeremiah Duggar and Hannah Wissmann are far from first-time parents. Married in March 2022, six months after they announced a courtship, the pair welcomed their first child, Brynley Noelle Duggar, on Christmas Day that same year. Their second daughter, Brielle Grace Duggar, was born exactly 14 months later on February 25, 2024.
The pair didn’t slow their pace after baby #2, either. Their third daughter, Emery Jane Duggar, arrived in May 2025, less than 15 months after her big sister. Baby #4’s name still has not been revealed, but based on the announcement, it appears he was born around 15 months after Emery, as well.
The family’s ongoing scandal
The happy baby news for Jeremiah and Hannah comes as the extended Duggar family continues to grapple with a serious legal situation involving Jeremiah’s older brother, Joseph Duggar. Joseph, 31, was arrested on March 18, 2026, in Tontitown, Arkansas, and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under 12 and lewd and lascivious conduct by a person 18 or older. He’s accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl multiple times during a 2020 family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida. According to an arrest affidavit, Joseph admitted to the abuse when confronted by the alleged victim’s father, and again when police had the father call him with a detective listening in.
Joseph has pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial. He was released on a $600,000 bond, which bars him from unsupervised contact with any minors under 18 and from any contact with the alleged victim. His wife was arrested days later on completely separate child abuse charges. During Joseph and Kendra’s legal drama, Duggar family followers also learned that Josh Duggar, who is currently serving a lengthy sentence on child pornography charges, had been moved from his federal lockup to a new location further from his family’s home. It is still unclear exactly why he was moved.
