The 24-year-old daughter of Cindy Crawford stars in FX’s adaptation of American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis’ 2023 novel of the same name. She posed on the red carpet at New York’s SVA Theatre in a bold “naked dress.” The glittering Valentino gown by Alessandro Michele delivered pure glamour, with its slinky straps, square neckline, and diamond pattern. It was an elegantly show-stopping look that could have come straight from her famous mom’s wardrobe in the 1990s.

Gerber plays a character named Susan Reynolds in the new series from Ryan Murphy, which is set in 1981 at an elite prep school in Los Angeles. Igby Rigney plays Bret, an aspiring writer whose reality begins to unravel following the arrival of a mysterious new student named Robert Mallory (Homer Gere). Robert’s appearance coincides with a series of murders of L.A. teenagers by a killed dubbed The Trawler.

Gerber’s character is part of Bret’s social circle, alongside Debbie Schaffer (Hayes Warner) and Thom Wright (Graham Campbell). They’re a glamorous and deeply entangled group drawn into a life of wealth, beauty, parties and excess. Their youthful promise contrasts with the dark and cynical world of the adults surrounding them: Terry Schaffer (Wes Bentley), Liz Schaffer (Evan Rachel Wood), and Steven Reinhardt (Jordan Roth).

Richard Gere’s son also stars in ‘The Shards’

Gerber isn’t the only nepo baby in The Shards cast. Richard Gere’s son Homer Gere stars as the magnetic Howard Mallory in the series.

Gerber and Gere share a unique connection — their parents were married for several years in the early 1990s. But the pair had never crossed paths before filming The Shards, they told E! News

“We hadn’t met before shooting,” Gere explained. “Two weeks before, we met at a bar with all the other cast and we became friends. It’s funny.”

Crawford supported her daughter at The Shards premiere, along with her husband and Gerber’s dad Rande Gerber. Gere’s mother Carey Lowell was also in attendance. His famous dad didn’t make it, but he’s previously signaled his approval of his son’s career choices, telling People that he was “passing the torch.”

“I’m proud of him on two levels,” The Agency star said. “One, he’s really good. He really kind of preternaturally knows what he’s doing. But he’s also handling it really well. He’s a good kid. He’s a really good young man who kind of gets it, and this is not an easy job. Not everyone can function within it. So I think he can stay.”

FX’s The Shards premieres with two episodes on Wednesday, August 5 on FX and Hulu. New episodes drop weekly.
