Katy Perry Said Justin Trudeau Makes Her Feel ‘Whole’ After ‘Really Hard’ Year

Katy Perry is opening up about her romance with Justin Trudeau. The pair have been together since 2025, shortly after her relationship with Orlando Bloom ended. She said that she has felt better than ever before in her new romance.

Perry has had a number of high-profile relationships before Trudeau. She recently described the former prime minister of Canada as the love of her life. 

“I am very in love,” she said during the premiere of her concert film Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour (per E! News). “Actually that show was after I met the love of my life, and so I felt very anchored by that.” 

She said that he makes her feel grounded, which is something that has been very beneficial for her.

“Because I’m a little bit like a rainbow kite,” she said. “I fly super high and like, you know, touch the veil, cosmos, and sometimes I need to be anchored. So, to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now.”

Now, she said she feels better about her life and her future.

“Every day is a fantastic journey, and every day is a chance to evolve,” she said, “and to be a better person and do the right thing and to be a model for your community, for your family, for your world.”

She said that she feels “like a more grounded person in so many aspects of my life.”

Perry and Trudeau began their relationship shortly after her engagement to Bloom ended. At the time, she was on tour, but she was excited about the romance.

“They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes,” a source told People. “She is traveling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction. They have a lot in common.”

While they seem different, the source noted that they have a great deal in common.

“Music is one of many things they can share,” the source said. “Both are idealists and still live in a world where they think they can make improvements, although it has gotten more difficult.”

She was previously engaged to Orlando Bloom

Perry said that she is happy to have found the new relationship after a very difficult 2025. Her longtime relationship ended, and she faced widespread criticism and ridicule for a number of things.

“I went through a f*** ton, and there were days that were really, really, really, really hard,” she said. “And I just kept going ‘cause I made a promise to my fans. I made a promise to my daughter. I made a promise to myself. And I got through it. I walked through the fire because everybody has to walk through their own fire, and if you’re walking through hell, you keep going because on the other side of hell is definitely heaven.”

She and Bloom ended their engagement after nine years together. They share a daughter.
