‘Love After Lockup’ Returns May 29 — Meet the Couples
Love After Lockup is back on We TV.
A new season of the reality series about inmates and the people who love them premieres May 29 (streaming the same day on All Reality). Eight new and returning couples will share their stories of attempting to build a life together after one partner is released.
The new season includes a throuple facing potential judgement from their religious family members, a Love During Lockup alum who orchestrates two prison releases so neither of his girlfriends feels left out, and a woman who met her current love interest through her ex-boyfriend — his former cellmate. As these couples navigate financial obstacles, relationship secrets, and other challenges, they’ll find themselves pushed to their breaking point.
Kami, Trent, and Nita
Kami and Trent are a married couple from Redding, California, who come from a very strict religious background. Their friends and family are unaware that they’re now in a polycule with Nita, who is awaiting release from jail. After making their We TV debut in the Love After Lockup season premiere, their story will continue in the new series, This is Poly, which follows the trio as they plan a commitment ceremony and decide how to tell their loved ones about their relationship.
Goddess, Damond, and Bonita
Damond, Goddess and Bonita from Love During Lockup are back, and their explosive love triangle is about to get even messier. Damond is about to be released, so he secretly orchestrates two prison releases, making sure both Goddess and Bonita gets her own special moment with him. But juggling two relationships proves harder than Damond anticipated, and his stories don’t always line up. With the clock ticking, Damond knows he has to act fast. Will he be able to bring the women together when the truth is revealed, or will he lose them both?
Kayleigh and Michael
Viewers met Kayleigh and Michael during the most recent season of Love During Lockup, which ended with Michael getting released to a halfway house. But the couple’s problems are far from over. Kayleigh’s spending habits become an issue when all of Michael’s credit cards get declined at the grocery story. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to secrets about their finances. Add that to the ongoing rift with their mothers, and it’s beginning to seem that their marriage doomed from the moment Michael left prison.
Rich and Felicia
Felicia has been behind bars since age 17. Now, nine years later, she’s finally free, and Rich, at last, gets to meet the woman of his dreams in person. But it’s not smooth sailing for these Love During Lockup alums. Felicia’s family has questions about Rich’s past, especially once it comes out that he’s been married before. Between the distance separating them and their trust hanging by a thread, will new information about each other change everything they thought they knew?
Keirsten and Brady
Keirsten is a single mom of two from Missouir with a soft spot for bad boys. In fact, she likes them so much so that she married one while he was serving a five-year sentence for drug possession.
“The plan wasn’t to marry a man in prison,” she says in the teaser. “But I couldn’t help but fall in love with Brady.”
Now, Keirsten and Brady are the center of nonstop gossip in their small town. They haven’t spent a single day together as a couple in the real world and are desperate to finally start their life as husband and wife. But on his release day, things don’t quite go as planned.
Karrington and Zay
Southern belle Karrington met her beau, Zay, during a prison video visit with her brother. Sparks flew instantly and things quickly turned romantic. But now that Zay’s release is approaching, Karrington knows she has some secrets to confront — including the fact that she’s been dating other men.
“People may say that I’m a liar, but my feelings for Zay are 100% true,” she declares.
Meanwhile’s Zay’s sisters, who anxiously awaiting their brother’s return, are skeptical of Karrington’s intentions. As his release day nears and things seem to take a turn for the worse, will Zay be the ticket to Karrington’s future or the setup of a lifetime?
Dia and Cyrus
Dia is a hardworking Colorado mom of four. She’s also a hopeless romantic who’s no stranger to dating incarcerated men. She met her current love interest, Cyrus, through her ex-boyfriend Jaden, who also happens to be Cyrus’s former cellmate. Now, Cyrus is preparing for his release from prison. There’s just one problem. Jaden still lives in Dia’s small town, and he wants to rekindle his friendship with Cyrus. But Dia has no intention of allowing a friendship between her ex and her current boyfriend.
Charlie and Hilary
An eclectic 55-year-old from Oklahoma, Charlie hopes the third time is the charm when it comes to love. While working as a supervisor in a prison janitorial program, he fell hard and fast for Hilary, an incarcerated former actress and model. Charlie proposed after just three months, but their whirlwind romance came at a cost: Once their feelings were exposed, both were fired. Now, Hilary plans to move in with Charlie after her release – until she’s tempted by her ex-husband and his boat in sunny Florida. Caught between two men, two lifestyles and a brand-new belief system as a born-again Christian committed to sobriety, Hilary must decide whether she wants a fresh start or to return to her glitzy past.
Love After Lockup premieres Friday, May 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on We TV and streaming the same day on All Reality. The new series This Is Poly premieres the same dat at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
