Lydia Plath and Zac Wyse lost their ‘greatest love’
“There’s no words for the pain … Our first child, our greatest love, and a true miracle. We’re so grateful for the short time we had with our baby bean,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post.
“You were so loved and celebrated every day we had with you! You were the talk and the joy of our lives with family, honorary aunts and uncles and friends. All so excited to love you and meet you but now you’re gone too soon. Give my brother a hug for me,” the statement continued, referring to Lydia’s younger brother Joshua, who died in an accident at 15 months in 2008. “Can’t wait to meet you in heaven.”
The TLC stars’ heartbreaking announcement was met with a wave of sympathy, including from Counting On alums Jinger Duggar and Jill Duggar.
“I’m so so sorry, guys. Praying for you all!” Jinger wrote.
“So so sorry for your loss,” Jill wrote.
Both Jinger and Jill have previously opened up about their own experiences with pregnancy loss.
‘Welcome to Plathville’ star is ‘recovering’ after miscarriage sent her to hospital
In a follow-up post, Lydia – who is one of Kim and Barry Plath’s 10 children – thanked people for support during what she called “the hardest week of our lives.” She also shared more details about her miscarriage, revealing that she “ended up in the hospital.”
“It was a really traumatic experience as I was hemorrhaging and bleeding to the point of passing out. I got an emergency D&C and a blood transfusion and I’m recovering well,” she wrote.
“But even through all of that, we saw the hand of God protecting us and caring for us in the pain,” Lydia continued. “So many people have come together to care for us. It’s been beautiful to see just how loved this baby was … Thank you all again for the love, prayers and scripture verses.”
Lydia and Zac married on February 22, 2025, roughly six months after they started dating. Their wedding was featured in season 7 of her family reality show.
