Mia Goth Seeks Sole Custody of Her Daughter With Shia LaBeouf
The hits just keep coming for Shia LaBeouf. Just days after he agreed to void an NDA that had restricted FKA Twigs from discussing her abuse allegations against him, his wife, Mia Goth, filed for divorce. The Pearl star filed the paperwork in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Oct. 6, and she is seeking sole legal and physical custody of the couple’s only child.

Goth moved to end her marriage to LaBeouf around the same time he resolved his legal dispute with ex FKA Twigs. It’s unclear whether the timing is connected, but fans can’t help but notice. Either way, the end of the marriage appears to have been more than a year in the making.
In the court filing, obtained by People, Goth cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and listed the couple’s date of separation as July 28, 2025. She is not seeking spousal support and has asked the court to bar either party from receiving it. She has also asked for sole legal and physical custody of Isabel, the couple’s 4-year-old daughter.
According to TMZ, sources say Goth had wanted LaBeouf to go to rehab and pushed for him to get sober around the time they split. LaBeouf moved to New Orleans around the time of the separation and has been stirring up trouble in the Big Easy ever since.
The court has not yet ruled on any of Goth’s requests, and LaBeouf has not publicly responded to the filing. He will have the chance to contest her request for sole custody of their daughter. Goth, however, isn’t looking to cut him out completely: She asked the court to grant him visitation.
The couple has had a complicated relationship
Goth and LaBeouf’s relationship has been long and incredibly complicated. The pair met in 2012 on the set of Nymphomaniac and hit it off. They began dating soon after and married four years later, exchanging vows in Las Vegas.
In 2018, they called it quits, and LaBeouf moved on very publicly with FKA Twigs. That relationship lasted about a year, and by 2020 he and Goth had patched things up. Their daughter was born in 2022, and LaBeouf has credited Goth with helping to save his life during his darkest period. Things seemed to be going smoothly until 2025, when the couple separated and LaBeouf’s behavior began making headlines again.
Meanwhile, Goth’s career has soared in recent years, with her most recent role coming in The Odyssey. She is also set to appear in Star Wars: Starfighter next year.
