Mika Abdalla’s Ex-Fiancé Described Her as ‘Some B***h’ in Uncomfortable Podcast Moment
Mika Abdalla is having her moment. The popularity of Off Campus has sent her star rising, and with that increased popularity comes interest in her love life. Abdalla appears to be single at the moment, after quietly ending her engagement to Jake Short. The end of the romance has led fans to resurface a clip in which Short appears to call his then-fiancée “some b***h,” but the comment might be more nuanced than that.
Mika Abdalla’s Ex-Fiancé Made a Terrible Comment About Her
An interest in Mika Abdalla’s personal life has led fans to unearth a clip from a podcast she appeared on years before Off Campus took the world by storm. In 2024, she appeared on the Sit and Chat podcast, co-hosted by Jake Short and Disney alum Bradley Steven Perry. While most of the episode is pretty mundane, Abdalla’s fans have latched onto a clip in which Short calls Abdalla “some b***h.”
The moment unfolded during a segment called “Couples Therapy.” During the chat, Perry asked Short to describe Abdalla moments after Short praised a different woman as the “best person” he knew. Abdalla, clearly hurt, shot back, stating, “So she’s the best person he knows, and I’m just some b****h?” Short, presumably thinking he was being cheeky, joked back that she was “some b****h.” While they both tried to play off the exchange, the tension was palpable.
When Did They Split?
While fans have quickly latched onto the viral moment, Mika Abdalla and Jake Short’s romance did not end over the comment. In fact, the couple remained together for years after the comment was made. Their split, after five years together, is far more recent.
On June 1, a representative for Abdalla released a statement revealing that Short and Abdalla had parted ways. The rep noted that they continue to support each other and remain friendly. The statement did not reveal a reason for the breakup, nor did it offer a specific date.
Still, an insider spoke to DeuxMoi about the breakup. The anonymous source revealed that Abdalla was the one to call off the engagement right around the time Off Campus premiered. They claim Short is saddened by the split, but insisted nothing nefarious led to the end of the romance.
While her love life might have taken a hit, Abdalla’s professional life is headed in the right direction. She is already set to appear in Off Campus season 2, and continues to ride the high of season one’s unprecedented success.
