Kelly Osbourne Reflects on Shocking Transformation After Her Father’s Death: ‘I Didn’t Know I Looked Like That’
Kelly Osbourne has described the past year as especially difficult following the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne. The 41-year-old recently looked back at her physical appearance transformation and health journey.
The British singer was widely trolled over her 2026 BRIT Awards appearance in February. Many accused her of relying on weight loss medication, such as Ozempic, for her transformation. Others noted that she looked unrecognizable in their body-shaming comments.
According to The Sun, Osbourne addressed her dramatic weight loss following her father’s passing. She said, “I didn’t know that I looked like that until I saw the pictures,” referring to her appearance at the BRIT Awards. The singer mentioned that her transformation also came as a surprise for her.
“When I saw them, I couldn’t f—— believe it. I was as shocked as everyone else,” Osbourne admitted before revealing that she has gained 30 pounds since. She confirmed that she did not slim down due to an eating disorder. Instead, it was the grief that made her relationship with food complicated. She said, “I just couldn’t do anything for myself. Eating made me feel like I wanted to throw up.”
Osbourne shared a close bond with her late father. She often mentioned being heavily affected by her father’s death last year. During the interview, Osbourne revealed that that past year was the “worst year” of her life.
Besides losing a parent, she also split up with her then fiancé, Sid Wilson. She shares her son Sidney with Wilson. Despite the many lows that she faced last year, Osbourne tried to look at the bright side of her changed life. “But it’s also been really beautiful because I’ve learned that my grief is an honor, as I truly love someone that much,” she said.
While dealing with some of the hardest moments of her life, she leaned toward a supernatural method to seek help. She said she would go to her father’s grave for answers. The 41-year-old revealed that she does a lot of “candle magic.”
The singer added, “My dad told me he would send me messages. It felt like everything inside me was dead, and I didn’t want my son to see me like this.” Osbourne further detailed the procedure she followed to talk to her father. “I went to my dad’s grave with a white candle, and I wrote a wish on it saying, ‘Please help me,’” she shared. While she did not reveal whether she got an answer, she did get to see a therapist the next day on her mother’s advice.
This was not the first time Osbourne addressed her dramatic weight loss. With every public appearance, she was followed by body-shaming comments and criticism last year. According to the Daily Mail, the mother of one revealed last month that she could not recognize herself in her pictures from the Grammy Awards.
“I looked like the f—— Crypt Keeper,” Osbourne reacted to her red carpet appearance. She recalled her reaction to the photos, saying, “I said, ‘This is scary. I didn’t know I looked like this.’” The singer admitted that she could not notice her weight loss while struggling with “so much pain.” She also called herself a “broken person.”
