5 Must-Watch Original Shows Coming to Netflix in September 2026
Summer’s almost ever and school is back in session. But the new releases keep coming at Netflix. This month, the streamer has a full slate of new and returning shows on deck, including season 2 of Guy Ritchie’s action-comedy The Gentlemen, new teen drama Crew Girl, and a reboot of beloved ‘90s sitcom A Different World.

‘The Gentlemen’ Season 2
As rumors swirl that Meghan Markle might join the cast of The Gentlemen Season 3, Netflix is getting ready for the release of the show’s second season. In the new episodes, Eddie (Theo James) expands “the reach of his criminal empire and [tests] the relationship [he] has with Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone),” who runs his criminal business from a luxurious prison, lead writer and executive producer Matthew Read told Tudum.
The Gentlemen Season 2 premieres September 3.
‘Crew Girl’
Fans of YA dramas like My Life With the Walter Boys will have a new must-watch series this month on Netflix. Rowing-focused series Crew Girl focuses on Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau), a talented 16-year-old single sculler who is hoping for a fresh start after she moves to the East Coast following a family scandal. But her promising future at Easton Prep is complicated when she realizes the school doesn’t have a girls’ crew team.
Crew Girl premieres September 10.
‘Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story’
After tackling the stories of Jeffrey Dahmer, Ed Gein, and the Menendez brothers, Ryan Murphy is back with another bloody, bingeable series about a real-life crime. This time he’s tackling the legend of Lizzie Borden, who many suspect murdered her father and stepmother in Fall River, Massachusetts, in 1892. Ella Beatty plays Lizzie, while Vicky Krieps plays Maggie Sullivan, the Borden family’s maid. Charlie Hunnam and Rebecca Hall play Andrew and Abby Borden.
Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story premieres September 17.
‘A Different World’
Netflix is headed back to campus. The highly anticipated reboot of A Different World picks up with a new generation of Hillman College students, led by Maleah Joi Moon as Deborah Wayne, the daughter of original character Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison) and Whitley Gilbert (Jasmine Guy).
A Different World premieres September 24.
‘The Final Problem’
Armchair sleuths will be seated for this updated take on the classic closed circle mystery. The Final Problem is a five-episode Spanish series set in 1959. Thirteen people find themselves stranded on an island near Mallorca due to a violent storm. When an English tourist is found dead, Basil (Jose Coronado), a retired actor who once played Sherlock Holmes on the big screen, takes on the role of investigator.
The Final Problem premieres September 25.
