New Show About Tornado Chasers, Plus Fresh Seasons of ‘Homestead Rescue,’ ‘The Last Woodsman,’ Coming to Discovery Channel in May 2026
Discovery Channel is cooking up a storm. The network’s programming lineup for May 2026 includes the return of several fan-favorite series, a fresh Naked and Afraid spinoff, and a brand-new series about tornado chasers.
‘Deadliest Catch,’ ‘Homestead Rescue,’ and ‘The Last Woodsman’ return to Discovery
This month brings the return of three popular reality series to Discovery.
Deadliest Catch is back for its 22nd season on May 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. In the new episodes, the fleet heads north to St. George Island in search of a rare breed of king crab that could be worth a fortune.
Homestead Rescue returns Tuesday, May 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. It follows the Raneys as they criss-cross the U.S. – from West Virginia to New Mexico to Louisiana – and take on all-new rescue missions that push the limits of off-grid living.
Friday, May 15 brings the return of The Last Woodsmen. In the new season – which premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT – winter closes in on the Pacific Northwest, and the Cypress Creek Crew have just eight weeks to raise a million dollars and seize control of the legendary Forever Claim. But the potential of big rewards also comes with big risks.
“It’s a dangerous job,” one cast member says in the teaser. “You can do everything right and the woods is always out to get you.
‘Naked and Afraid’ alums compete in a ‘Global Showdown’
Fans of Naked and Afraid can also look forward to the survival series’ latest spinoff this month.
Naked and Afraid: Global Showdown debuts Sunday, May 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. It features teams of survivalists representing Brazil, Australia, Mexico, and different regions of the United States as they compete in a grueling 40-day primitive bushcraft competition. The contestants’ skills, toughness and teamwork will be tested as they compete for bragging rights and a $200,000 grand prize.
‘In the Eye of the Storm: Chasers’ premieres May 17
The Naked and Afraid: Global Showdown premiere will be followed by the debut of another new series, In the Eye of the Storm: Chasers. This six-part docuseries follows 12 teams of real-world storm chasers and certified weather spotters. They’ll venture into America’s tornado alley, risking everything to self-shoot their encounters with nature at its most extreme, warn people in harm’s way, and help save lives when disaster strikes.
“I’m trying to get as close as I can to this tornado while not getting killed by it,” one chaser says in the dramatic teaser.
